Best Answer: No, the handle is not designed to come off. My experience is that the handle isn't strong enough to use for pulling. You still have to have your hand on the actual comb when wrapping & pulling but it does give you some support for your hand. I couldn't really recommend it as a best option for pulling. Hope this helps
