Got this for my elderly mare and it hasn't rubbed her mane at all.
The tail flap isn't lined, however, so that rubs the tail. The rest of it works so well that I'm willing to sew the flap myself!
Everyone at the stables wants one now. Very stylish and has not faded (Plaid).

I recommend this to all my customers. I like they way a horse can wear the blanket for extended periods with out getting a dent in the base of its neck.

I love this blanket. The neck cover is really nice. Only fault is that it is not very deep on the sides. Not good for fat or pregnent horses. Fine for your average QH.

I am working on year 3 with one blanket and year 2 with another and they are both still great. I was concerned about the neck buckles being plastic but I've never had a problem with them. I wish the front came up a little higher under the neck because my horses do get wet down thier chest but it's not bad.

I bought 2 of this blanket last spring at a great price and was worried because of the great price that I was getting a bad product. Yeah!!! I was wrong. The blankets are great and easy to get on and off. I love the hood being attached so you will never loose it in storage and they held up great.

These are awesome blankets, especially for the price! We have about 50 of them that we use on everything from yearlings to show horses to broodmares. They keep them super warm and dry. The blankets are super hardy, hold up very well.

I live in a very rainy and cold state, western Washington. I bought this for a rescued draft mule who was bone thin and needed a lot of warmth and protection in a major winter storm we had here this past winter. I checked her daily to make sure she was warm and this blanket was amazing. It kept her cozy and comfortable when she needed it most. It's not just great in snow, when it rains here in the winter it just bites through you, and she stayed dry and warm the rest of the winter. This blanket doesn't rub either, and trust me, she was boney! It's a rugged blanket too. I only wish they made them for a size 58" donkey......maybe they'll see this and make them in smaller sizes. :) Great blanket at a great price!!

I bought this blanket for my sister's QH gelding and the saxon 600D one of these for my paint/arab mare. These blankets are worth their weight in gold! Sizes are true to fit and even the neck-piece fits with no rubbing on the shoulders or the chest! They've lasted all winter even with some of the "bullies" in the pasture biting and whatnot, no rips or tears on either blanket. The price is great, the blankets are great, and I have two happy, warm horses throughout our Michigan winters! Love love love these blankets and will definitely be purchasing turnout rugs and other things from Saxon from here on out!!! :)

Very easy on and off. Nice not to have to mess with a separate neck cover. Very durable, 2 years with one small tear.

My stud wore this all winter and it is still in great shape nothing is ripped or broke on it and he can be pretty hard on things. The only thing that was off, because he is so broad chested and thick necked I had to buy a larger size so it wouldn't choke him so it was a tad long on him, but on a normal horse it would probably fit perfect.

I live in northern michigan, and we have been getting a lot of rain and snow. my mare has stayed dry and warm. Her mane is not falling out ( which I was worried about) Great blanket, great quality, and great price. I will be using this one from now on. Not even a hint of rip or tear.

I have owned this blanket for 3 years now and it still dont have a single rip in it. I have them on all 10 of my horses and I just love them. Keeps them super warm and dry on those rainy days. This is the only blanket I will ever buy. Well worth the money. Only thing I wish is that they would have the snaps towards the front of the legs instead of the back of the back legs. Still a great blanket.

I got this blanket the first year it came out and only paid 45 for it when it was on sale, I wish I would have known how good it was going to be because I would have bought a lot more than just one! This blanket really has a nice design to it, because other neck combos often slip, turn and fall off, but this one can't. Its perfect for my AQHA mare that has really sensitive skin, because with other turnouts she always still gets rainrot on her neck (despite regular grooming), but with this on she never does.
I just bought a couple more even though its a bit pricy I think its worth it. My only complaint is that I wish they would make the neck clips out of metal instead of plastic.

Love everything about this blanket except be aware it DOES rub parts of the mane off! It did this to both of my show Apps! So, I'm going to look into a slinky that will cover the mane and see if that works.

I got this blanket for my 16.1h TB/Quarter Horse and my 17h Warmblood. I love this blanket! It's price is EXCELLENT for the quality! It has plastic buckles for the neck- but it isn't that bad. The leg straps are stitched into the the blanket at one end, which is a downside. Another dislike is that by the chest on my warmblood especially it comes really high up. The blanket has held up since early November with my TB/ Quarter horse (this is a huge thing because blankets usually last 2 weeks with out being destroyed with her) I use a 81 on both horses and the fitting is really nice (besides coming up on my warmblood) Overall, I love this blanket's style and quality for price. I highly recommend!!

Like the sheet this blanket size seems to run narrow. My horse is average weight yet the front is on the last hole. Also,I can only close the uppermost fastenter on the neck. However,it's tough and keeps her dry. This is the second year of everyday turnout use and it's still in one piece.

I have this blanket without the neck part for my Spotted Saddle Horse. He has big shoulders and is very bulky/stocky/barrel chested. True to size for him, but I could see how it would be baggy on narrower shouldered horses.

I just got this onto my horse in sub zero weather. It is warm around her body. the neck closures are plastic and don't overlap the fabric so her neck is colder. the size is generous. I bought a 78 for a 78 horse and it hangs a little over the rear. I have the straps pulled to the shortest length. the straps between her thights are not elastic. I like that. this is good quality for the $$.

I have had 3 of these high neck blankets for the past 3 years and think they are a great value. They can be layered well and do stay in position. I raise ponies and they were true to size in comparison to my Rambo blankets.
I did loose one to a very boisterous gelding who plays hard, as it didnt hold up to constant biting like the Rambo, but for the price I could buy 3 for the cost of one of the other!
Fits nice and snug - not too long on the sides.

This is the best buy I have ever made in 30 years of blanketing horses. This blanket provides great protection, stays in place on active horses of varying shapes and sizes, doesn't leave any rub spots, and even looks great. My horses are comfortable, happy and clean! I only wish Saxon would make the same thing with no fill for the warmer wet season of late spring and early fall. PLEASE keep making this blanket and a turnout sheet to match!!

We are very pleased with this blanket. I particularly like that it is all one piece, so that water doesn't seep in between the neck and body.

I bought this for my mare when I decided to body clip her due to skin problems. She's outside most of the time and here we get cold, especially the wind. Every time I checked her last winter she was nice and toasty. We get a lot of bitter wind and it blows in hard but my girl stayed dry and clean. She wore it 24/7 with other horses and not a single tear.

I am very picky about my horse blankets, but after buying this blanket, I will never buy anything else. I have a TWH & a Thoroughbred and the fit on both horses is perfect! This blanket never shifts or shafes. My horses stay completely dry and warm in this blanket!

Just recieved this today. Ordered on recommendation from a friend. This is one of the best blankets for the money I think I've bought. Sizing is accurate, and fits like a dream. Will order more for the rest of the horses when they are ready for new blankets. Love the attached neck, wish it was available in more colors!

I do like the combo blankets and/or sheets because they lift the front from binding the neck chest area. My mare is a muscular quarter horse whom normally takes an 81" or 82" size. Because of the other reviews that said the blankets ran large, I ordered a 78". Her big butt sticks out...so if your horse is 'beefy' order your regular size. Otherwise, the color looks good on a grey horse.

I bought this blanket for one of my horses who, when he gets wet & cold, starts shaking uncontrollably and has to be toweled dried in his stall. I've had other blankets, but his pasturemates always destroyed them. I Love This Blanket!! It's true this blanket runs a size big, so I got a size smaller than usual. It fits him like a dream! Absolutely No Rubbing! Now I never have to worry about him getting cold. I got this blanket in Blue/Purple and love the color. As his buddies are rough on blankets, it has gotten a small snag in it, but this doesn't affect the blanket negatively. Totally waterproof. I would definately recommend this blanket, and buy another! =)

I purchased these blankets last year for several of our horses and have been very pleased with how they have held up. I did not find the sizes to run large and they fit my TBs and warmbloods great. I ordered 72's, 75's and 78's, they are comparable to the Oricans in fit but do not offer the wide tail coverage and are cut shorter in the length so do not offer the extra coverage over legs and belly. The blankets have withstood the roughhousing and laundered up nicely to use again this season. Overall fantastic value in a full neck medium weight turnout and I would purchase again.

I ordered this blanket for my older gelding. He is hard to fit...yes, the blanket does run a little big, but still was able to use the blanket on him. The blanket is a nice warm blanket and even with the weird rainsnow mix we have been getting, he still remains dry...and he loves his new blanket..The neck covering is a added bonus for him

I ordered two of these and find that I now need to order more! Yes they do run large but I was able to use the larger one on my older mare when she is bundled up with her bulky winter blanket. Rain mixed with snow does not make it through so she stays toasty warm! The smaller blanket fit my younger horse who has a fuzzy coat to start with. She is also dry and warm. Thanks for making a blanket with the attached neck. There is no mane rub out, just happy horses.

I initially order a few of these, and have now decided to have one for all of our horses. I bought one in each size needed and tried them on our QHs, warmbloods and three thoroughbreds. They fit very nicely, are easy to put on and adjust. I love that they are waterproof, and have filled neck covers. I own a lot of blankets, but I am ordering more of these and plan to use them instead of fussing with fleece underliners and rain sheets, and turnouts with attachable neck covers. My niecess first horse, now a 36 year old Arabian mare, lies down in this and has caused no damage to the blanketIm very happy!

We have ten horses of greatly differing body size; three foundation stock QH's, two very large thoroughbred mares, two warmbloods, a retired Standardbred, my niece's first horse-a 37 year old Arabian, and a Welsh pony stud. The pony is the only one I can't buy this for. The others are all outfitted with them, and they are very good fits, seem quite well constructed. A lot of body heat is lost through the shoulders and neck, and this eliminates fussing with fleece underblankets or separately attached hoods to protect their necks. Easy to care for; now I'm sorry I have all those other turnout rugs, sheets, fleeces, etc. and have to store them.

i ordered those for my boys, but did not like them at all, the sizes are totally off, ordered a 75 for a 76 size horse, but it was way too big, will have to return all. didnt think the full neck was made with horses comfort in mind either. material quality and craftsmanship is great though

This blanket finally was what I was looking for to keep my very white pinto clean from head to tail. It did NOT rub above the withers, and fit great. Truly waterproof and did not slide around. Until I washed it, it was perfect. Then the batting in the neck bunched up and messed up the quality of the blanket through the neck. I would "quilt" or somehow stabilize the neck before washing any others I buy. But I do plan on purchasing another. Great product at an extremely reasonable price.
