·        Name Tag - Included on the inside front left.

Specifications:

·         Measuring Instructions - Stand your horse as square as possible, measure from the center of chest around side of the body to the point of the horse's rump just before the tail. If you horse ends up measuring between sizes always round up to the next size to ensure full coverage.

·         Washing Instructions - Machine wash with cold water – Gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air Dry or Machine Dry/No Heat

·         Horses Turned Outside without Shelter - Turnout Sheet and Blanket materials are waterproof and designed to keep your horse dry, however if your horse is turned out in a field without a run in shed or shelter during prolonged rain or heavy downpours your horse may still get wet especially in the neck and tail areas.

·         When using a blanket or a sheet on your horse it is critical to monitor the fluctuating climate and temperatures even with a blanket that is waterproof and breathable. The wicking properties of a breathable blanket are designed to wick away normal body heat, when a blanket is too heavy the heat and moisture cannot be wicked away fast enough causing your horse to sweat. The temperature and the length of your horse’s coat will determine what weight of blanket you should use. For this reason, most people who choose to blanket horses have several articles of horse clothing that offer varying levels of warmth.

I love this. , 4/12/2013

Jenip from Issaquah, WA

I have a 3 year old thoroughbred who has destroyed lesser blankets in a week or less, and I have this in the sheet and the 220g fill and I love them. They fit well, don't rub, last, and look great. I live in western Washington and its ALWAYS wet, and my gelding stays dry and warm. They even dry quickly when he comes in. Theyre fabulous value for the price, and I will be buying more!

Love it!, 3/27/2013

Riley from St.Cloud, MN

I've been buying Tough-1 blankets for a while, and just wasn't having much luck. Two of them were ripped apart, after only a month of having them! So I decided to go for a change, and bought this blanket. It fits my Arabian X Paint mare PERFECTLY. I've had it for about 4 months now, and there's not even one scratch in it, even though my horse lives with two other horses. I absolutely love it! It's the perfect weight and fill for the MN winter weather, and not too mention, it's VERY cute! Plus, it's a wonderful price. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product!!!

Finally a Keeper!, 3/7/2013

Sarah from VA

I bought a top rated Weatherbeeta last year for my Saddlebred gelding. Being rough on blankets, he had put holes in that immediately with his rough playing friends too after only a night of wearing it. I bought this blanket with all hope and good research -and he's had it on since early November. Not a hole in it-hardly even an scratch. My only wish was in advance in technology for the front clasps rather than buckles. He can tears those off like he did his last one, but alas, this blanket has been PERFECT! I'll keep buying Saxon!

Wonderful lite sheet!, 2/10/2013

Valerie from Selinsgrove, PA

A quality sheet for smaller horses! I bought this for my 14.2hh mare who is narrow in the chest/shoulders and wider in the rear. She wears a 68" heavy blanket, so I ordered the 69", and it fits like a glove! The 1200D feels tough, and has already withstood a couple tough rollings out in the field without shifting around. I read other reviews that said that this blanket has a short drop, and agree. Don't buy this blanket if your horse is taller than 15hh, as their belly will be exposed. With my 14.2, it's just a hair below her belly. The only thing is that the belly straps are a bit tough to hook/unhook. It came with the little rubber rings, so I'm thinking if I remove them, it'll be easier to hook without having it unhook itself during a roll. Definitely satisfied with this blanket!!

Great!, 1/21/2013

IowaHunterJumper from Iowa

I really rate this a 4.5 stars. My horse was bitten pretty badly but blanket did NOT tear. My horse lost a bunch of fur underneath the blanket where he was bitten. He likes to play hard so this has kept him with his pasture mates. He lives outside 24/7 and we've had no problems with the quality so far. The only issue I've had is the sizing. My QH measured almost an 80, so ordered the 81 and it's a little too big since the neck hole doesn't fit his body type. I would definitely buy this again, but I might try the 78.

Exactly what I wanted, 12/2/2012

BlueRiley from Seattle, WA

I gave this product 5stars in every category because it did exactly what I wanted, for a very reasonable price. My filthy 3yr old warmblood wore this blanket for something like 4months straight. It kept him clean and dry even though he likes to sleep in puddles. Besides being very dirty the blanket is in the same shape and when it arrived. It also fit well and he could easily run around in it. Cons: It doesn't come in any "boy" colors. The t-closures are also a bit rusted after being wet all the time. I just bought the winter version of this blanket and in the spring I will let everyone know how that one did.

Very Durable, 11/28/2012

BadWolf from Bozeman, MT

I bought this almost a year ago for my 15.2 thoroughbred gelding. It caught my eye because it was plum colored and plum happens to be my horse's color. As is true for most Saxon blankets, the sides are not as long as I would like. Hint: If you have a very tall and/or big-bellied horse, I would probably choose a Weatherbeeta. I do like that the waterproofing has held up well and that the inside of the tail flap is coated with teflon, making manure very easy to brush off. Overall a good buy for the price.

Great sheet!, 9/7/2012

Jessy from Golden, CO

Bought this for the in between seasons we have here; to keep them dry when needed or clean. This sheet has yet to disappoint me and is living up to all of our standards. I would like to see Saxon lengthen the sheets so they drop a bit more below the belly. Its not too short though and these sheets fit both my TB and QH. Can't wait to get my heavier blankets by Saxon :-)

LOVE THIS SHEET!, 6/1/2012

Mom4Boyz from Tacoma, Washington

I bought two of these to replace sheets for both my horses. I LOVE THEM! My horses stay dry and comfortably warm with these sheets. My QH is very tough on his sheets/blankets and this one holds up even against everything he throws at it. My TB has very long legs, so he looks as though he's wearing a "mini-skirt", but otherwise the sheet is perfect!

Works perfectly, 3/23/2012

Chava from Juneau Alaska

I bought this for my Haflinger gelding. In the winter my horse has an extremly heavy layer of fur. It rains a lot here, and is rarely below freezing. I had been looking for a rain coat for months but could not find anything that was sturdy enough and was without padding or insulation. I bought this and have been very pleased. The quality is great. He measured 74, but I got a 78 because he is so broad chested. I would definately recommend this product.

Perfect Fit, 2/20/2012

Judi from Ocala, FL

My horse "measures" 74" but the 81" sheet fits great on the second-to-tightest buckling! He's a 25 yo massive bulldog type horse. He isn't choked at the neck; all parts of the sheet stay put. This is my second Saxon, & I'll continue to buy this product. He doesn't even complain about wearing "old lady purple."

I have a 14h palomino and this sheet is awesome and it looks great against his coloring. I use it to keep him warm at night when it gets below 40. Not thick at all, but don't need it to be in SoCal. Fit's him great, not too short, but he's kinda little.

NOT WATERPROOF, 1/23/2012

Definitely not waterproof. My horse was soaked both times we used it. I had to put on her thicker blanket just to dry her off. Durability is fine, but wouldn't use to keep a horse warm and dry.

Fabulous Sheet: great value for the price!, 11/8/2011

Alexa from Kansas

I love this sheet. The plaid color is really very attractive and doesn't show stains. The fabric is very substantial and sturdy. It does look a bit like a mini-skirt on my 17 hh Warmblood. But all Saxon's are a little short on the sides, especially if your horse has a hay belly. Someone asked about velcro, there is no velcro on this sheet. (But would be a great addition) This is not a heavy blanket, it has no fill, so don't buy it for warmth. It's a great waterproof windbreaker for windy, rainy early fall and late spring days or as a light blanket for nippier nights/trailering. I also layer this overtop of a non waterproof stable blanket for turn out at times. Can't beat the price when other name brand sheets are twice as much!

Compares to pricey blankets, 10/4/2011

CMM from Southampton NJ

I got the medium turnout blanket. Used it all last winter pretty much 24/7. No rips, tears, all hardware stayed in tact and the horse stayed dry. My horse size is an 84 and I ordered an 84. Fits perfect front to back. The only complaint I have is that it seems a bit short around the belly. But still kept her comfortable in extreme weather. Skinny or lean horses probably will be fine. Fat horses will just have a bit of air down the center of their bellies. Absolutely worth it for the price.

ANR from Stephenville, TX

I bought this blanket about 3 years ago and the only issue I've had is the SAXON label has been half pulled off. I don't want to say ripped b/c the fabric didn't tear! I think they run a little big- I bought an 80" and it's a touch large. But over all- I love this blanket!!

Not Durable, 5/1/2011

question from IA

This blanket is just not durable! It ripped after having it on for 2 days! We put repair patches on it, but after about 3 months, it has at least 7 holes in it and new ones are gradually forming. Both leg straps broke after 1 washing, and the front nylon straps are very worn and frayed. i've only had it for one winter.... i doubt that it will last another.

Excellent, 3/16/2011

Standardbred from CA

I bought this blanket with some fill in it for an all around blanket for california weather. My horse is really tough on blankets and the gelding he lives with loves to chew up anything I put on him. For the price, I was hoping this blanket would hold up for at least a few months, but I was very pleasantly surprised. For the price, this has been a great blanket that holds up to my goofy gelding. He wore it almost every day this season, no rips or tears, no rubs or bald spots, and it doesn't even shift and stays in place great. This is better quality for the price than many other blankets I have tried, I would definitely buy this brand again.

I have owned this blanket for a couple months and it has held up on my mare(who tends to be very rough with blankets). Just the "SAXON" emblem has almost torn off. Other than that it is in perfect shape. She has worn it in -20 temps and she was fine. Keeps them warm and dry. Pretty too!!

Nice, economical blanket, 3/1/2011

JONI MCSPADDEN from NW WA

I ordered a medium weight version for my daughter's horse for winter, and liked it so much that we've ordered a light weight version as well. The blanket it tough, has held up well to the ultimate butt rubber, and after several months still looks brand new. It's hardy, the colors are flashy, and it has kept him dry and warm during an unusual winter. 25 at night, 45 during the day and he's never too warm or cold.

This blanket works very well for my Friesian who doesn't need a blanket for warmth but to help keep him clean while running in an open pasture/field with other horses. Very durable product - have purchased two more for my Quarter horses. The waterproof and windproof really helps without causing them to overheat.

Erin Christine from Chattaroy, WA

I purchased this blanket 7 years ago, after I moved to Nevada, trying to find one that wouldn't rip the minute my TB mare tried to pull on it. It withstood her wear and tear, the cold winters and being stored for three quarters of the year. After moving back to Washington, it still withstands years of use on multiple horses. This is truly the best blanket for the price!

kyra from

I bought this sheet for my old arab in prep for the spring rains. Saxon runs large - I have over 15 years worth of saxon horse wear - so I always take that into consideration when buying for my horses. My arab was normaly a 78 - he was big for the breed - but it was too big for him. Now it is my TBs. It has gone through four horses in two years and looks like new.

Great Product, 1/20/2009

from Reno, NV

I purchased 2 of these sheets (an earlier version)in 2006. I have used them through the winter in Idaho and Nevada on my horses who are not clipped but need a little extra protection from the weather when turned out. I am still using them with only one small tear in one of the sheets. My horses stay dry, the sheets stay in place and do not rub. This is a great value!
