    Saxon Flysheets, 8/30/2009
    Louise from Somerset, UK

My pony suffers from sweet itch and is constantly rubbing even with a flysheet on. I have tried every flysheet around including some very expensive ones and they have all ended up getting ripped and caught on fences which can be dangerous if they do not break easily. This Saxon rug was recommended to me as it is cheap, lightweight and well shaped. I brought it because it is cheap as I anticipated having to replace it regularly. It seems that it offers good protection from flies but is also so soft and light it is comfortable and my pony does not rub so much. As a result the rug has lasted over a year and has been used extremely frequently. I have machine washed it and it came out nice and clean. There are a couple small rips but these are easy to fix. I have been thrilled with it and so has my pony.

    Saxon flysheet, 7/5/2009
    Lindsey Tower from Wilbur, WA

I have both the standard neck & the combo sheets. Yes, they tear if your horse rubs against a fence or leans into barb wire. I would rather they tear than trap my horse in a bad situation - which happened with a Kensington flysheet. What's a few tears - I can generally mend them if necessary. I like them because they are soft on the horse's skin - not like other sheets I had - stiff and unyielding. I can leave the sheets on for 24-48 hrs if necessary and the horses do not mind. The sheets machine wash beautfilly clean. I can find a few flaws with the sheets: belly bands - they are not snug enough to keep flies off the belly line. I have to take binders clips to snug up. The clips work well because they easily pop off if something happens; the tail strap is kind of hokey - most people prefer a leg strap; not sure what the tail cover is for.

    Old Horse , 9/11/2008

I have a 35 year old horse that struggles with handling heavy blankets.. even fly sheets. This blanket has been awesome for him. Very light weight... very breathable... and extremely effective for fly protection.

    wont last long, 7/2/2008
Deborah Little from Live Oak, FL

I purchased 3 of these sheets and I guess you get what you paid for. Two were torn and unusable after 5 days. I was lucky and had not opened the third so I was able to return it. These are made for horses right Well, I must have very rough acting horses either that or I am right about this product. Not Good.

    Saxon Fly Sheet, 5/1/2008
    Marianne from Santa Barbara, CA

This is a comforable sheet for the horse to wear, but it did not last more than 2 months for our horse. The material tears and snags. One of the buckles broke. Id go with a more expensive and better made sheet for longer term use.

fly sheet vs. fly spray, 3/24/2008
    Deborah from Cold Springs, NV

My horse is allergic to fly spray. I do not think fly spray is good for any horse at all, I mean its a bottle full of chemicals we are spraying on our horses. This product is good to have no matter what. Even if you still like fly spray, what if you are out and your horse is getting eaten alive. Then you will need a fly sheet. I like this fly sheet because it is lightweight, breathable, and protects your horse from any type of fly or bugs. Plus, it is the least expensive out of all the horse catalogs I have looked in.
