Over all its good. A little tight in the shoulders. Get a slightly bigger one for horses with a broad chest.

nice for the money from Bushnell, FL
Nice blanket for the money. I have tried other blankets with no luck. My gelding wears it 24/7, 365 days. This is the best because it also has the neck attached, which stays up w/out hooking to the halter. He rubs his mane also. I keep one extra for major rips, it is on a horse!

Great sheet for the price. It held up really well even though my horse wears it 24/7. The only complaint I had about it was that I bought it hoping that it wouldn't rub my horses shoulders and it did a little, but it held up really well and I've never found a sheet that doesn't rub his shoulders, so I think it's a horse error and not a sheet error.

This sheet wears like iron. My large pony recently wore out her first Saxon Combo fly sheet after using it for seven summers. It fits true-to-size and I love the shoulder gussets and belly band. HOWEVER, it does shift- about 3 inches to the right side of the pony's spine. I have attributed this to the fact that the belly band is stitched to the off side of the sheet while it attaches to the near side with two adjustable elasticized straps- makes the weight distribution uneven. I compensated by putting it on with the centre back about 3 inches to the left and it usually evened itself out in a very short time. Weatherbeeta has changed the belly band on its WB fly sheets so that they attach the same way on both sides- it is time that they did the same with their Saxon line. Then this economical sheet would be unbeatable value for the price.

I have a large Standardbred and this sheet fits her great. Does not, slip, bind and she can roll in it and I don't have to re-adjust. So far not rips or snags. The ears in the matching fly mask do have snags.

Since some people have been saying this sheet slips around, should I get one size smaller for my horse? Hes pretty good on his blankets but I don't want it slipping around since I do board him.

This sheet is not worth the money. It slips constantly, even after I had sewn weights on the other side to try to counter balance it & it is on a 28 year old gelding. Black flies get under the sheet. I am not pleased with it at all.

This sheet protected my horse from the flies and sun really well. It slips to the side though and rubbed the hair off of her shoulders. Okay price for the quality

My 28 yr old mare has become very sensitive to any biting fly or bug and to hot weather in the past 2 years. She won't even go out into the pasture in mid-day. Some friends recommended a fly sheet and I bought this combo sheet yesterday. I put it on my mare in late afternoon and she went right out into the pasture.
It does shift to the left and the belly strap isn't snug enough. I couldn't figure out how the tail cord would work or help and concur with the other reviewers on it. I'm going to shorten the belly straps so that part fits better. That may prevent the slippage. Good value and material and my mare seems to be comfortable in it.

I like the double closures on the outside of the sheet. The material is very light, which I love. I bought my fly sheet last year, and have used it on two horses this year, and the material has been very durable. I does slip slightly to the side- thanks to these reviews, I know what to do about that. The only thing I would like to see in the future is small tabs attached to neck straps so that you don't have to almost thread a needle to get your fly sheet on your horse! LOVE! Buying a larger size for my larger horse now!

Twists a little to the left, but overall a nice sheet. My horse loves it, and looks good in the choral/grey. Seems realy hardy so far.

I don't know if it's the material or what but something changed. I gave good reviews before and since then decided to buy a nice new clay/ coral for my big mare. It fit fine and I did the usual add the leg straps. Two days later I came out one morning to find it shredded. I've been buying these for a couple years and had little tears now and then but this was different. *sigh* guess its back to trying out flysheets again.

Bought QH mare and Freisian Gld. What a difference these sheets made in keeping the bugs off my horses! I still sprayed the sheets, but much less spray needed overall. yes, they do tend to sag on the buckle side. Just sew some small weights in a fabric patch on the other side. fixed! I'm getting a couple more since these lasted all summer.

I bought two of these because I wanted an inexpensive sheet for my two geldings. These were a great price and they really are sturdy. They breathe well, stay on without issues, and I haven't had an coat fading over the summer. I have a couple of tears but nothing that was other than normal wear and tear. I have TBs who are hard on sheets & blankets. These are well worth the money and I recomment them to everyone.

My friend and I bought some of these thinking it was a great deal but...we had to add leg straps and sew straps from one side over the back to the other side just to stabilize it. Once we got the slipping under control and they actually wore them for a couple of days we noticed rubbing on the shoulders. Wasn't worth our time or money.

I like the price, and durability of this fly sheet, but there is no room in the shoulders. THe sheet rubs and within two days hair was already stating to rub off of my horses shoulder. My horse does not have huge shoulders, but hte sheet does not seem to lay right which causes the rubbing.

I liked everything about this fly sheet except for the useless tail cord. The cord came off during the night and the sheet twisted and rubbed a 4" spot of hair aff his front leg. The sheet was a waste of money.

the material is wonderful but it sleps way left. the bellyband does not tighten enough and hangs way to low, and the weight of the metal clips cause it to twist the whole thing up, i still use it but i would recomend buying one without a belly band....

nice sheet only problem like everyone else said is it slides to the left and also for horses with longer manes the halter tab rips out the mane
i have a stallion that's highly allergic to the bugs here in ri and i don't have a problem with him peeing on the belly band. im probably going to add leg straps to it to prevent it from slipping

This product isn't worth the $55 they charge for it. I bought one on sale (thankfully) and when I got it the material appeared to be nice, but the belly wrap hangs WAY too low and the horse could easily get a foot caught in it. I had to improvise with safety pins. The belly wrap also fits far back, so if you use it on a gelding (like I did) the belly wrap is constantly getting urinated on and stinky. The sheet slides around as well. I have to fix it every time I go out to the pasture.
Durable material, but not so great fit.

READ ALL THE REVIEWS-AGREE WITH MOST.THE ONE I HAVE HAS LASTED 2 SEASONS- WOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER IF THE SLIPING PROBLEMS WERE ADDRESSED BY SAXON. IT'S AN EXCELLENT SHEET AND MENDS BY MACHINE EASILY, WASHES WELL. I AM GOING TO ORDER A NEW ONE, BUT THIS TIME I'M GOING TO ADD BACK LEG STRAPS, CUT OFF THE TAIL FLAP AND SHORTEN THE BELLY STRAP. BY THE WAY DOES ANYONE KNOW JUST WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSE TO DO WITH THAT ONE BACK CORD??

This sheet has a great price, has a belly band and attached neck protection. Very nice material and well made. Only a horse fly can bite through the material. I only have two problems. The neck attachment is too short for my TBs. And the sheet always slides to the left on both horses. I think the buckles cause it to slide that way. Otherwise a great fly sheet.

I really like this sheet except for the way it keeps sliding to the left of the horse. Really helps keep the flies off but it slides to the left off the butt I think because of the weight of the buckles on the one side.

If you don't want to spend a fortune but want your horse protected than I would recommend this flysheet. The non combo is a good sheet also. There are a couple of things. I removed both the tail flap and added my own leg straps. I have one on both an arab and a TB built more like a QH. It is not the best fit in the shoulder area but I don't notice any rubbing. The belly band is a bit farther back than it should be and loose on the Arab but not on the TB. My TB is a huge magnet for biting flies and loves her blanket. It is on it's second year and a little worse for wear, however I keep it on 24/7 except for stormy days. A needle and thread fix up most tears pretty quick, but I do think I will need to purchase another one for next year. I don't use a halter for the neck rug and don't have any problem with it staying in place, maybe just not quite as high. Overall, I like this this sheet compared to some of the others (some very pricey) I've used and will stay with it until something better comes along.

Bought two of these, and bought "extra big" because everyone had reviewed them as running small. Consequently, they are all "too big" for my huge warmbloods. That's okay though.
They are NOT too tight in the shoulder (all fly sheets seem to be a little awkward at the shoulder area) and they are SOFT!
Terrific belly coverage too. Also love the velcro at the front, really helps keep it closed.
Washes beautifully.
Love these, and I've paid twice as much for a fly sheet, and these are better.

Nice tight weave and soft. The fly sheets are not good for turn out, which is where all the bugs are: in the grass. They slip to one side and were ripped to shreds by them stepping on them. Leg Straps which are not included would have helped keep them in place.

Right size but way too narrow in the shoulders, I took it right off my horse, it looked so tight in the shoulders i'm sure she would have gotten rubbed. Belly band too far back not as soft as i thought it would have been

I bought this sheet for all my kids last summer and two out the four survived unscathed. It was a good product even for my rough and tumble horses. The only complaint I have is that the tail guard rubbed off one of my horses tail. It came to a choice of endure the flies and have a great tail or have a scruffy tail and no flies. Just a suggestion, line the tail guard or make it detachable. Then it is a great sheet.

This is an okay flysheet, not the greatest I've ever bought, but it'll work for your easy blanket users. I like the fabric a lot, it smooths down the horse's coat very well, but I am not pleased with the belly strap. It hangs too low for one, and is a better choice for a mare than for a gelding or stallion--they tend to urinate on it because it sits too far back. I bought mine on sale for $20, and it is a very nice flysheet for the price, but I wouldn't want to pay $40+ for this sheet. It also slips to the side very easily, I'm constantly having to readjust it, and it doesn't fully cover the neck like I would like. But I wouldn't totally condemn this flysheet.

This is a great fly sheet. It has held up nicely and doesnt rub. The only problem was it was so extreme with my flymask that my mare scared the other mares when she went out for turn out! She looked like a moon man! But its so good I wouldnt even think of turning her out without it!

I have lots of sheets for my horses but this is my favorite. It fits well and I love the belly cover-I keep it tight so the flies can't get under it-more protection! This is a soft sheet, very comfy and it washes well. I'm going to get another one. I've had mine three seasons!

I bought this sheet for our horse who is allergic to fly bites and is bothered by mosquitos. I really like the extra neck section that helps cover more than half of his neck. The belly flap also helps protect his sensitive stomach.
Other reviews thought this blanket ran small, but I think it's true to size. It didn't slip on my horse, and he wears it almost constantly in a pasture.
Soft mesh fabric is nice too.
Drawback: the under belly band goes far enough back that geldings make it really messy! I wasn't able to get it quite snug enough to prevent um, pee through!
Otherwise, I'm happy with this fly sheet!

I'm surprised others have had a bad experience with this sheet--my mare wore the same sheet (very nearly 24/7) for two seasons. A rip acquired at the end of season one was easily mended, and the sheet held up to a second summer. It fit reasonably well and certainly provided significant protection for my mare's hyper-sensitive skin. In spite of the long-term wearing, the sheet produced no rubs on the mare's coat or main. I'm buying another sheet for this year.

I bought this fly sheet because it was reasonably priced. By the time my horse had taken 10 steps the sheet had completely slipped off to one side and was nearly off. The included tail strap did little to keep it in place. Even with added leg straps it slips excessively to one side and caused rubs on my horses shoulders. I will be throwing this sheet away.

I ordered this sheet for my horse who lives outside and within the first week it got a big rip in the side. It also does not stay straight on him and always pulls to one side. i was not too happy with this sheet and will have to throw it away after only one summer. it has many rips in it now.

I moved my horse to a new barn where everybody uses these fly sheets. My poor horse was being attacked by flies and I was out of fly spray so one of the other boarders let me borrow her Saxon fly sheet. He barely seems to notice its there. It helps a lot. But you still have to spray their legs and in between their legs with fly spray. I recommend using a full face fly mask with ears as well as this fly sheet. This fly sheet stays on pretty straight, moving only a few inches to one side or the other, and it doesnt twist when the horse rolls. Ive never washed one, but I have been told they wash up wonderfully. The only bad thing Ive found is, if you attach the top of the neck to your horses halter or fly mask, when the horse puts his head down it pulls and the Velcro starts to come undone from itself. It didnt really bother my horse, but I know it bothers other horses. I dont attach it to his fly mask anymore and the neck part stays up on its own really well.

I think this is a great sheet. My mare has worn hers for two seasons and it shows it, but it has held up beautifully. She is constantly itching and rubbing so its been put to the test. However, with just one mending job by the front buckles in year two, its 100 useful. And it has remarkably saved her from flies. I would recommend a longer neck piece and will be adding to this somehow. It withstands washing, but not excessive as the trim will start to come off, but that doesnt affect its usefullness. My mares sheet fits her snugly so I have no problems with shifting at all. It has been a lifesaver for my poor girl who is basically allergic to summer! And the price is great I cannot afford over $100 on a sheet...

I bought two of these sheets last summer, there is a lot of belly band, and not a lot of ways to take that up. Theres great coverage, I really like the material, it is very soft and supple, however, with no leg straps it is nearly impossible to get them to stay on the horses without falling to one side of the other for much longer than an hour.

Carol from Dallas, TX
I have bought several of these sheets over the years. The fit has been pretty true to size. I was a little concerned about so much drape in the sheet, with the major concern that the sheet might twist and turn when a horse went down for a roll on the ground, but was pleasantly surprised that the belly band combined with tail cord, and attaching the neck piece to the turnout halter seemed to prevent most issues. The sheet is very soft and light weight, so I did not experience any rubbing on the body or mane. The neck piece has solved my problem of my horses losing mane where tradtional sheets normally rub. The mane under the sheet can get snarled or matted if a horse really likes to rub their neck on objects, but if they are doing that, the material probably wont survive very long. The velcro straps on the neck were easy to use and have held up for a full season of use. I have one sheet that has survived 2 seasons, with minor sewing repairs to stitch holes caused by snagging on something. For a stabled horse that is not bored and needing a play toy, the sheet works great. For turn out outdoors, I would not recommend this sheet if your horse likes to rub on trees or fences. The light soft fabric is going to get holes and rip. The light color easily stains, so I have 2 per horse, so I can wash one while the other is being worn. I wish they had put detachable leg straps on, it would have really improved the product. If your horse likes to grab and pull on blankets, this is not the sheet for you. Overall, most of my horses have worn them and done well.
