FOCUS HF provides 10 mg. of supplemental biotin per serving. This is many times more than is already synthesized naturally in the horse by intestinal microbes. [sic. 2007 Nutrient Requirements of Horses] Some research (funded by vitamin manufacturers) have suggested that very large quantities of a single vitamin (biotin), is beneficial to hoof quality. However, we feel that it should not be necessary to mega-dose an individual vitamin to foster a normal response. Indeed, our opinion is strengthened by the reports of so many horseman who have supplemented biotin (15 to 40 mg. per day) without success. When they have changed to FOCUS HF, with its wealth of nutrients and micronutrients, they report the wonderfully healthy hooves, and skin and coat condition they've been seeking!

The only nutrient in SOURCE that needs evaluation when formulating a feed ration is iodine. (The levels of each of the other minerals and trace elements is so low that it will not imbalance any feed ration design).

SOURCE is a rich source of natural organic iodine. It is particularly useful for those who are seeking to increase iodine levels in a potentially deficient ration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Skepitical of Supplements My paint gelding had ingured his coronet band which in turn caused a quarter crack to form on his outside front foot. This was almost 2 years ago. My gelding was receiving the Farriers supplement that they all recommend which he was on for 1 year with out any improvement. The quarter crack was still there, hair line crack but still there. So my friend mentioned this product and because of its inexpensive price I thought I would try it. He was been on it for 3 months now, and has beautiful solid growth. The quarter crack is almost all grown out, BUT the crack isn't going up to his coronet band. I would definately recommend this product, especially if you are using the more expensive farriers formula. Give the product at least two months to see a difference. September 15, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by mended hoves The hoves on one of my paint horses could not hold shoes. My vet said she has no soles and needs shoes. she has now been on HF hoof for a year and her feet are growing and she can walk right again. My farrier said that he could not believe how good this worked on her hoves. I am so glad she can walk without pain now. I recomend this to everone. June 5, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product!!!! Two years ago I purchased a TB/QH mare that ended up having soft hoof walls and brittle hooves, not just cracks from the dry weather. I brought her home and had my vet out to give her a check over. He recommended Source Focus HF for her. Right away I got her on it and as her hooves started to grow out the cracks were disappearing with each visit from my farrier. I ended up running out of the Source and decided to buy another hoof supplement from Tractor Supply. I have had her on the "other" supplement for three months and the cracks are back and worse than ever! I am switching back to the Source Focus HF and never trying anything else again. Source has the chelated minerals need to help the horse absorb the vitamins and minerals that are essential for the hooves. Boy have I learned my lesson! August 3, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT FOR THE PRICE Well I was kinda' iffy about trying suppliments because it is a lot of money to waste on just "trying" out a product, but WOW!!! I was soooo surprised! Monte my big loveable rescue came to me with horribly short hooves and cracked. I was scared he may be lame because of it. I decided to get him a hoof suppliment to try and see if it improved his condition and wow did it! His hooves were shoed and I started him on this product. He now has much healthier hooves not to meantion it started making his coat soft as well, especially under his neck and hind. I recommend Focus for any horse. It is really good for the price and you won't be disappointed. Just make sure to pay attention to the rationing instructions March 2, 2009
