The only nutrient in SOURCE that needs evaluation when formulating a feed ration is iodine. (The levels of each of the other minerals and trace elements is so low that it will not imbalance any feed ration design).

SOURCE is a rich source of natural organic iodine. It is particularly useful for those who are seeking to increase iodine levels in a potentially deficient ration.

But caution, even a good thing can be overdone. SOURCE should not be fed at higher than recommended dosage levels, and if you are supplementing with a number of different products, it would be wise to review iodine levels to assure you are not overdoing it.

My particular TB mare has decided that she likes this, which is huge, as she is most particular about small particles in her feed, as she is inclined to not quite clean up her tub. I painstakingly 'stir' all her items well together just prior to feeding and she lets me know how well I am doing by how much she almost cleans up her tub by morning. THIS MARE is the first [of 4] that I bred, raised, trained, and she's sound, oh so fit and still working at age 25 !

This is the only probiotic that has shown any results for me. Mvp, and Probios did not work. Very satisfied with focus sr for all ages of horses. Helps save money on grain.

I just rescued a half starved Dunn gelding with Arthritis. We need to put weight on him and also wanna put him on joint supplements. The weight is not that big of an issue, because he eats really good and loves to eat too, but is thus product also good as a joint supplement or do you recommend something different? Never had an older horse and take every advice I can get. But I am not able to spend 100 s of Dollars on supplement. Thanks!

Best Answer: I recommend you consider herbs. You can study the Silver Linings supplements right on horse.com. If they sell it, they are all listed and it tells you for what. I have heard very good things about that. I also recommend you consider AniMed ImmuAid which contains natural ingredients that are probiotics. I feed alfalfa, grass hay and a little bit of whole oats and bran. That is where I put the supplements, mix it up, and they munch it up. I just studied these products recently for a gelding I have that I believe has an ulcer. I am not an expert.

I'm getting a older horse and I'm going to use a vitamin called the Missing Link. Would this work as good main vitamin?
bob r on Dec 12, 2014
Best Answer: We have never heard of the Missing link, so do not know if is good or not. What we do know is that we have given our Arabian The Source for over 20 years now and it is something we do not want to be without. She is now 30 going on 31 years old. We started with regular Source and now she is on Senior. Another recommendation is Kool Kalories. It is a weight builder and needed with older horses.. You will not be sorry in taking on a older horse. They appreciate everything you do for them.
