I was devastated to find a bluebird struggling to free itself from one of these & it's mate dead on the ground below. I had to put the poor bird out of it's misery as it had destroyed most of it's feathers. The other bird appeared to have broken it's neck getting free of the sticky. Later that day my neighbor & I each had a little gray insect eating bird die the same way!!! These are killing the very birds that eat insects & should be banned, DON'T BUY THEM!!!

You need to cover the trap with a fine wesh if want to avoid catching small birds. We had the trap up for about five hours and we caught two flies, one beetle, and 7 finches. The trap took out our natural fly predators.

They work great if you use them like it says on the box, in the sun and 4' off the ground. I also hang mine in the doorways of the barn to catch wasp!!(Of course I have tall doorways)

Great product, I hang one of these next to the water tank (low where the flies are) and set one in the sun where flies congregate. Amazing how many are trapped!

Title says it all...Used next to horses stall, still had stable flies biting me and the horses in stalls, not many flies attached to trap. Also had it hangin on a shepherds hook and the wind broke the flimsy top holder.

Had good success with this trap. It catches a lot of flies. Unfortunately also caught some finches in it. Now I put a mesh wire around to keep the birds away.

All it did was trap baby birds. I hardly saw any flies on the thing at all. I would NOT buy this again. It caught and killed 3 baby birds before we took them down. They were so sticky they could not be saved.

This trap is so poorly built that I can't even get the top to stay on long enough to put it up.

Bite Free Stable Fly Trap from Flat Rock, MI
Stable flies are the ones that bite the horses (and my) ankles. It works great for those pesky buggers! My horses don't stomp all day like they used to. Now if someone could come up with a trap for those darn ear flies!

This fly trap really targets biting flies!
I don't recommend placing it close to bird nests. We had two birds get caught in them last year.
