Mixing and Feeding Directions:
Strongid® C 2X is to be administered on a continuous basis either as a top-dress or mixed in the horse’s daily grain ration at the rate of 1.2 mg pyrantel tartrate per lb. of body weight daily. To achieve this dose, administer 0.5 oz of Strongid® C 2X per 250 lb. of body weight (2 oz. per day for a 1,000 lb. horse). Strongid® C 2X should be administered for the entire period that the animal is at risk to internal parasites. Unprotected animals that have grazed may already have an established S. vulgaris larval infestation. Before administering Strongid® C 2X , these animals should be treated with a therapeutic dose of a larvicidal product. Foals may be administered Strongid® C 2X as soon as consistent intake of grain mix is occurring. This is generally between 2 – 3 months of age. Strongid® C 2X may be used in mares at any stage of pregnancy or lactation. Stallion fertility is not affected by the use of Strongid® C 2X.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Strongic C2X I have been feeding this to my weanling and yearlings for over 10 years. They have done wonderful on it. June 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works for my Horse Recently there has been a concern with worms at my boarding barn. I am the only one who uses Strongid C2X and my horse's Fecal Count was 25 as compared to others that were in the 850 count who had been using a quarterly rotation of pastes. I feel even more confident using this product. She has been on Strongid C2X and Equimax twice a year for 10 years now- apparently doing its job!! May 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really brought out the bloom in the coat. After about one month of use I noticed a definite difference in my Equines coat. All of them took on a shine that was remarkable. I have been using it now for 4 months and I have also noticed fewer flies around the barn. I definitely recommend this stuff. April 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stop Worms From Starting! I have been using this product 6 years for my horses, with NEVER a problem. My picky eater never hesitated to gobble it up.Why kill worms AFTER they have matured and chewed holes in your horses gut?? Start daily, and NEVER have worms again! Use a tapeworrm and boticde paste twice a year, and that's it :-) October 4, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 Easy Wormer! The ease alone with this wormer is wonderful. 2 weeks and I can see a difference in the coats of all my horses. They will actually eat this right out of my hand. Wonderful product, cost effective for multiple horses...highly recommend. June 17, 2009

When you give a one time (gel or paste) dewormer do you stop the Strongid C 2X feed through? IF so for how long? Just that day or longer?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2015
Best Answer: You generally use one or the other but not both. If you need a paste wormer for bots or some worms not covered by the Strongid C 2X, I would stop the daily dose for a week then give the paste and go back on the daily dose a week later if you need a daily dose. Only horses on a grass pasture or that eat manure getting them reinfected should need the daily dose.
