Product Summary:

Strongid® C™  Daily Feed Pelleted Wormer
by Zoetis, formerly Pfizer

Strongid® C™ (1.06% Pyrantel Tartrate) is a continuous daily wormer that controls a variety of large and small strongyles, pinworms and ascarids. Palatable alfalfa/molasses pellets that are safe for all ages. Fed as a top dress or mixed into grain, it’s great for horses that won’t stand for paste wormers. Each 25 lb. pail will provide 100 days of prevention for a 1,000 lb. horse. Safe for all horses, including pregnant mares, foals and stallions.

Item Specifications:

Ingredients
:
Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Wheat Middlings, Ground Corn, Cane Molasses, Mineral Oil, preserved with propionic acid

Mixing and Feeding Directions:
Strongid C is to be administered on a continuous basis either as a top-dress or mixed in the horse’s daily grain ration at the rate of 1.2 mg pyrantel tartrate per lb. of body weight daily. To achieve this dose, administer 1 oz. of Strongid C per 250 lbs. of body weight per day (4 oz. per day for a 1,000 lb. horse). (A Strongid C measuring cup is enclosed.) Strongid C should be administered for the entire period that the animal is at risk to internal parasites. Unprotected animals that have grazed may already have an established S. vulgaris larval infestation. Before administering Strongid C, these animals should be treated with a therapeutic dose of a larvicidal product. Foals may be administered Strongid C as soon as consistent intake of grain mix is occurring. This is generally between 2-3 months of age. Strongid C may be used in mares at any stage of pregnancy or lactation. Stallion fertility is not affected by the use of Strongid C.

will this kill the larvae stage of flies in manure?
patti c on Mar 6, 2015
Best Answer: It will not.
This product is a daily feed-through dewormer. It helps kill intestinal parasites before they have a chance to damage internal organs.
If you need a daily feed-through product for flies, please take a look at Pfizer Solitude IGR (item SLT101692), Farnam Equitrol II (item SLT900179), or Farnman Simplifly with LarvaStop (item SLT101621). Or, if you use the search bar and type in Feed Through Fly Control, all your options will come up.
