Need to keep small chicken coop warm during winter without risk of setting a fire
Land of Oz on Nov 22, 2015
can you put poultry pad on hay and be safe of fire ?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, I bought one thinking the same question and I placed in my chicken coop only after testing in the house for how hot it gets... After testing it is just fine... It get very warm but will not cause a fire if bedding covers it in a coop.

I mounted mine on a wall inside the coop. It was barely warm after 3 hours despite the freezing temperature of 20F. How can this ever warm the chickens sitting next to it?
A shopper on Nov 24, 2014
Best Answer: I'm not sure if it makes a difference but this is designed for chickens to sit directly on it. Also, for the future please do call our customer service if you are ever unhappy or unsatisfied with an item and we are always happy to assist you! 1.888.653.0026

Can it be used with straw in dog house? And does it get warm when animal lays on it ?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2015
Best Answer: Yes I use in chicken coop with straw... No issues it won't light on fire or anything like that... It's not pressure activated rather warms when turned on... I hooked mine up to a timer so it's only on during nite when temp is low. Hope this helps.
