Wanted a pad that provides padding where the saddle actually sits, offers ventilation and helps to keep saddle from slipping.

I'm going to try this for my endurance rides and see if it improves my horses' comfort
PAMELA A on Jun 30, 2015
Mainly for the split, my newest horse is much shorter bodied than the others. The split makes it fit, much, much better!! I borrowed a similar one at stables and it fit quite well. Plus we are in the midst of a terribly hot , humid summer so the ventilation is sure appealing!

Will the pad lift bars off the withers?
Meemee on Sep 7, 2014
Best Answer: Yes it will help but only by a 1/4 inch if you need it bad than you want something with over a inch padding a correction pad like:

do horses like them?
Jodi C on Jul 31, 2014
Best Answer: My horse seems to like it fine. I have also noticed other people riding with me that there horse seems to sweat more than my horse with the saddle pad. I also like being able to hose it off easy.

what is the thickness of this pad?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2015
Best Answer: The pad around the saddle area isn't thick but the material is spongy. Where the saddle area is it is cushy without adding to much height to a western saddle. I sue this pad with my Wintec synthetic western saddle and my horse has no back soreness afterwards. It was a very good purchase.

my horse has a boney back so i need a thick pad. how thick is the pad?
A shopper on Jul 4, 2015
Best Answer: This is a nice pad, but it is relatively thin. Our horse is broad and she was sore after the 2nd day of a long weekend ride. Most of the padding is on the side not the back. It's much easier to clean than wool pads, but I'd only recommend it for light riding, or with additional padding.
