Product Summary:

Tough-1 Zebra Mesh Fly Sheet

The zebra patterns have been shown in recent studies that horseflies and common flies are not attracted to this pattern. The flying pests are confused by the way that the light reflects off the black and not off the white. The lightweight poly/nylon mesh allows natural air circulation over the horse which helps to keep the flies and insects away.

Features:

·         Lightweight poly/nylon mesh

·         Double buckle front

·         Adjustable surcingle belly and leg straps

Specifications:

·        Measuring Instructions - Stand your horse as square as possible, measure from the center of chest around side of the body to the point of the horse's rump just before the tail. If you horse ends up measuring between sizes always round up to the next size to ensure full coverage.

·        Washing Instructions - Machine wash with cold water – Gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air Dry or Machine Dry/No Heat

·        Horses Turned Outside without Shelter - Turnout Sheet and Blanket materials are waterproof and designed to keep your horse dry, however if your horse is turned out in a field without a run in shed or shelter during prolonged rain or heavy downpours your horse may still get wet especially in the neck and tail areas.

·        When using a blanket or a sheet on your horse it is critical to monitor the fluctuating climate and temperatures even with a blanket that is waterproof and breathable. The wicking properties of a breathable blanket are designed to wick away normal body heat, when a blanket is too heavy the heat and moisture cannot be wicked away fast enough causing your horse to sweat. The temperature and the length of your horse’s coat will determine what weight of blanket you should use. For this reason, most people who choose to blanket horses have several articles of horse clothing that offer varying levels of warmth.

Why I choosse this fly sheet: The neck appears to fit nicer than the fly sheet I'm using now. I like the zebra print and I think it will look nice on my black and white paint mare. I will have to feel the "fabric" when it arrives to find out if I really like it or not.

Why I bought it from this site: I looked at this same blanket on several sights and this was the best price.

So long as you order the proper size the sheet should stay where it is supposed to. Above is a link to a sizing chart.

Does it come with tail flap?
A shopper on Jul 27, 2015
Best Answer: No it doesn't. And the fabric tore where it attaches to the belly strap on the 3rd day my horse wore it.

Does this fly sheet work? I was wondering if it would tear, because my horse rolls alot and lays down alot? Thanks!
A shopper on Jun 19, 2014
Best Answer: Mine tore where the belly strap attaches the 3rd day my horse wore it. But the zebra pattern really did make a difference as she was far less bothered by them when she was wearing it.

Does this sheet allow plenty of movement for the horse's shoulders? My QH has big shoulder movement and I have found that many blankets inhibit his movement.
M M on Mar 5, 2015
Best Answer: It fits fine up on the withers and through the neck & chest area, but unfortunately it is a little tight at the point of the shoulders. Both my quarter horses are big shouldered and do better with a shoulder gusset. One of mine also ripped the first week I had it on - it couldn't stand up to her neighbor nipping at her. Its a good value for the price I paid but will probably go with a more sturdy one next time. Hope this helps.

I have had problems with fly sheets making my horse too hot because I live in such a humid climate. Is this sheet light weight enough even for very humid/hot climates?
A shopper on Dec 25, 2014
Best Answer: This particular fly sheet has multiple reviews from customers mentioning it is very lightweight and breathable. One pointed out that the "holes small enough to keep bugs out but yet big enough for air to get through to keep her cool." ...Another stating "The fabric is really light and soft. He doesn't get too hot in it. I can tell he doesn't mind wearing it!"
The material is poly/nylon mesh.
