Product Summary:

The Victor® Fly Magnet™ attracts and traps flies. The attractant lures them in, they can't escape and they drown.

Victor® fly magnet™ systems are simple to use, safe and effective -- the patented  non-poisonous bait is included with each trap, so simply empty it into the trap and add water.  The result creates a scent that flies cannot resist.  The white color and diamond-shaped lid is also designed to attract more flies.  Once trapped, the flies drown in the water-based mixture.

This bait is the most effective bait on the market - it out-performs competitive products 20 to 1!  The bait is also sold separately.  For outdoor use.  Safe around children, pets and the environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WORKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE! I used this product when I lived in Texas. The flies were absolutely relentless, to the point where fly sheets, boots and masks were not helping. I gave this a try (I bought two) and they started working INSTANTLY. Flys started immediately swarming right into the container. The only downside to using this is that you have to clean out the nasty dead flies (and they WILL fill up the whole bucket). Seriously, if you have a fly problem, here is your answer!! March 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST TRAP EVER Side-by-side traps -- this is FAR better -- even where more flies went into the other traps, they also escaped out of other traps, so the "kill" rate for these was MUCH better. They work much, much better on the ground, near water/damp soil. The trick is that if the flies don't like where the trap is in a day, move it. I found that if you can stand the smell, "fly soup" works as the best bait (empty part of the flies, add more water. if you are hard-core, strain out the flies & put liquid back in -- this requires a strong stomach and a poor sense of smell -- I was actually a professional fly trapper and it's hard for me). If you have a trap that stops working, clean thoroughly between batches if (USE GLOVES!!!!!), since sometimes algae will grow in the trap & repel the flies. The Victor bait really is good, Starbar is cheaper, & once the flies start going it doesn't matter which bait you started with. December 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by these Work I cannot believe how many flies these jars catch. I don't enjoy emptying them, but I hate the flies worse. I don't use but about half an ounce of the attractant, so these are very cheap to use. June 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by GRRREEAATT We bought 2 of these containers and put the expectorant in it, they catch so many flies in a day. It says however to put it in the sun, I've found that does not work, it works better to put in my breezeway in the shade and put them on the opposite end of the mare barn where my horses are. There are still flies but I know we are catching at least 25% of them and every little bit helps, I wish someone could tell me what really works for flies because i hate putting on fly sheets and fly spray on my horses every day of the summer, and they love my little paint mares legs and neck every year. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fly Trap I tried three different brands/styles and this worked BY FAR the best. It caught hundreds of flies, highly recommend. August 20, 2010

We had used a similar trap in the past. This one had a good price so we decided to try it. It works great - we needed to empty it frequently, which means it captured thousands of flies. The fly population was significantly reduced.

Best Answer: Hello,
I like them, because they trap many flies, including the large horse flies. of course the problem is never fully solved, yet these traps are filled with hundreds, if not thousands of flies. I will continue to use them, along with my hanging fly tape in barn, and at least the problem is manageable. Plus the I like the small amount of effort they take to use. Hope this helps, LeAnne

Is there a trap that targets deer/horse/black flies? I live in central Pa, and my poor gelding is frantic whenever it gets humid. Sprays don't last very long, and the feed throughs are working for cutting the stable fly population, but my poor guy will need a blood transfusion at this rate!

Best Answer: You may also wish to consider physical barriers. I live in central PA myself and have a fair amount of water on my property. My horse is dressed from head to toe in fly clothing: mask with ears, sheet with belly wrap and neck cover, and boots. I get made fun of sometimes for having a "Princess," but this is the only way my thin-skinned mare stays relatively un-bit-up. In her stall I remove the mask and boots but keep the sheet on. I only use fly spray when I ride. I rinse her clothing out while I tack up, and since it's all mesh it's dry to put back on when we're done. Hope this helps!
