Rated 5 out of 5 by you need this I actually had people say to me that horses don't need vitamin c, they make it for themselves. Maybe if they live on a grass pasture, with the proper amount of suppliments and light work, but not if they live in a stall like most horses in southern california. I started using this for my old mare, an ex polo pony who had mild lung problems that flared up now and then into bad colds and sometimes worse with runny nose and heavy breathing and all that. The vet was no help after the diagnosis, telling me that she needed to just stand around and not work or even get sweaty. At the time she was about twenty two. I have lots of allergies and know a thing or two about my own lung and nasal problems. Think, what do people do who get colds? They take vitamin c and fight them off, then keep taking it to keep healthy. I started to give my old girl vitamin c and she lived to be a very active and enthusiastic thirtysix. Don't get fooled by a vet or another horse owner who thinks they don't need vitamin c, it's a necessary thing to give your horse, if you don't have a green pasture. July 20, 2009
