We've used this product on our three horses at pasture for years. We don't do the full body coverage, just the face, so I can't speak to how effective it is anywhere else. For keeping flies off of faces though, it's been awesome. There's no fussing, just one swipe under each eye and they're good to go for weeks. Never had any problems of hair falling out, flies just sticking to the paste, etc. in the four summers we've used it. If only using on the face it lasts a pretty long time too. We've gotten many applications out of one tube. love it!

Love this product. Applies quickly and easily and no freakout scenes from skittish horses.
We have a huge fly problem in our area of Oregon. I have never had flies attract to it like negative posting here.
If you can see white globs a few minutes after applying, you are using too much. It does not take much, just a skim. Love this product. One container lasted me all summer on 4 horses but again, I don't overuse it. You don't need to "glob" it on. A light streak on the face below the eyes and maybe above the nostrils, on the chest and on each front leg, then and I put a bit at the rump just at the base of the tail and voila, No flies.
Do keep from eyes like also posted. Had one that I got a bit too close and his eye swelled for a couple of days but no permanent damage (it may have been a bee sting but I am thinking it was the War Paint).

This stuff is probably the worst product I've used. It's sticky, gooey and does not go on easily.
I was told by a lot of people this was great stuff...but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Although expensive for the limited quantity, this works! With 4 mules and a mammoth, there is only enough for 1 application on all 5 then it is gone. No need to touch the sticky goo, just swipe it on. It sticks, it stays and it is by far the best as it works for a long time. As it ages it gets powdery and can be easily brushed out before a new application in 7-10 days. Finally something that works- just dont get it where it can end up in the eyes. Great stuff!

I have a horse who is "sweet" - flies & anything else that bites love this guy. When we lived in Florida, I discovered this product - it really worked for him. It doesn't wash off easily & that's good because it rains daily in Florida. I now live in Colorado & he doesn't need it anymore - he does ok with a fly mask and a good fly spray - here in Colorado our fly problem seems minor. However, I have a friend who has a horse who is not only "sweet" but allergic to flies, etc. She has welts all over her body and is now on an antihistamine. My friend has resisted trying this product up to now. No more - I'm hoping it will work as well for her horse as it did for mine. It isn't pretty - your horse will have big yellowish-white streaks on him/her - but is that worse than huge welts and sores and rubbed areas?

We run a breeding farm, and between recipient mares and foals the fly masks don't last too long so we use war paint. We apply it once a week to the face, and give it a day to start working. Works awesome for face flies. We use it all summer long, every summer, on all the horses!!

I have been using this product for 8-9 yrs. just on my horses ears. It is goopy but works 100% for flys and gnats. I love it and recommend it to all my friends. it is worth the price.

I bought this for one of my horses that is very scred of fly spray since a neighborhood kids was spraying him with hairspray and abusing him.
This stuff is useless. It is more like a glue than a repellant. It tells you where you are supposed to put it. You cannot put more than 12 grams on your horse. However, it tells you where you are supposed to put it. It is not applied all over your horse.
The flies landed right on it this stuff. They did die eventually because they were stuck to it. My horse had flies hanging all over this stuff. It attracted them even more I think. Flies were eating him up. It is nasty disgusting mess on your horse. It is a total waste of money. I will stick to applying the liquid spray with a cloth. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

My horse is spray shy, he knows it will sting his tender TB skin, so this is a real help in the buggy times we have here. My only complaint, is that I end up uesing more, because I use it all over him, it does not irritate Mr. Sensitve at all.
