Weaver® ProTack Oiled Split Reins are crafted from heavy russet harness leather and finished with a four-step process. First, extra-heavy leather is double-stuffed for a “leadey” feel. It is then dipped in oil to add weight, dressed with saddle butter, and then hand-rubbed. The leather is soft, supple and weather-resistant while providing a broken-in feel and a classic look.

  • Water loop with tie laces
  • Made in the U.S.A.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Reins I really like these reins, they are heavy and thick, and are nice and long as well. The quality is very good and even though they came out of the box a bit stiff, they are becoming more supple the more I use them. November 26, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by much ligher color than pictured The leather these are made from is nice but the color is MUCH lighter than what is pictured. More like a dun than a russet. October 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great set of reins I got these reins to go with the matching headstall and they are simply wonderful. Really nice quality and feel. I got them in 3/4in width which is just perfect. They feel really great in my hands. I can't wait to try them out. So unless they end up being horrible I wont write another review! September 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Quality at a Good Price I was sceptical about ordering equipment on line without being able to see and feel it for myself. These reins are a nice thickness but soft and pliable. The extra lenght is very helpful to be able to correct the horse without having to carry a crop also as my horse only once in a great while needs a reminding spank. I'm planning on ordering another set shortly. July 26, 2010

How heavy are these reins? Are they weighted at the ends?
Julie on Nov 28, 2014
Best Answer: They are not weighted. They're stiff and need lots of Lexol, but I wanted heavy duty leather that wouldn't break if the horse stepped on the reigns as he was fussing... So far, so good.

Is this the same color as the picture? Or is it a lighter color then shown in the picture. What color would you call it?
Tessora B on Jun 21, 2014
Best Answer: Pretty much the same color pictured. Not a lot of variation. If you need them darker just Neets Foot oil them and put em in the sun!
