Needs Improvement, 8/1/2012

I bought this hack to use on a pony mare that I couldn't get a regular bit or even a pony bit to fit, and I must say, for a horse size hack, pretty small. On the pony, it fit almost perfectly (still a bit big, hung a little), but it barely even fit my Morab mare. Curb chain fell apart on arrival, so I put a regular curb strap on it and it fit the pony better (made it hang off her face a little less). The rubber is also red, not tan. The rubber did exactly that, rubbed all the hair off of poor Ellie's nose, had to wrap a washcloth around it and tape it. Not impressed with this product.

Please don't think I'm rude when I say this is a waste of money. I ran barrels once and it broke! And I wasn't even pullin hard. My horse is very sensitive to pressure. I do barrels with a regular full cheek snaffle or a regular, clear nose hackamore that is pretty old. It was my ma's when she was 12 years old! It was used very hard, and it worked better that this new hackamore I got.

I took this out of the box and it fell apart in my hands! The noseband part is not sturdy at all (Not sturdy enough to stop a horse.)But, what really got to me is that in the picture the noseband is a tan color... Well, when I got it, it was red! I did not order a red hackamore, I ordered what was clearly shown in the picture. HUNK OF CRAP/ WASTE OF MONEY! >:(
