1. Properly Fitting Halters

The last thing you want to do while trying to transport your horses to higher ground is scramble for halters and lead ropes. Keep halters readily available for your horses at all times, and make sure they are all intact and fit just right before the storm hits. Attach lead ropes to them while they are hanging up. This simple task can save lives
