Perfect Psyllium product
Love this product! Even the picky eaters will eat it in their soaked beat pulp. Per vets recommendation, I feed 1 cup twice weekly, and no sand on bi-annual health checks!

Excellent
Cheap and just as effective as any other sand colic product. It also goes a long way as well.

Has been great
One of my horses had a really bad case of colic. The vet didn't think he would make it through the night. He got better however a month and half later, he colicked again. We had to double dose him for 10 days and hasn't colicked since October 2013. He gets a 7 day treatment every month and has been doing well. It gets mixed in with pellets, beet pulp and Sr feed.

Does not gel well, which is needed for efficacy
I usually purchase psyllium from HorseTech, but I decided to try this product to save money and because of the positive reviews. This definitely seems to be a get-what-you-pay-for situation. The HorseTech psyllium is fluffy, light psyllium hulls and powder, which turns into a very sticky goo the second it gets wet. When fed, the horses would be seen with goop building up on their teeth and trying to clear it off with their lipds. The Animed product is a fine, darker, heavy mix of fines that barely gets gooey even when thoroughly wet for a period of time. The horses eat it well because it is quite inert. The heavy, gooey texture is what is needed to grab and move sand through the gut, so I would not purchase this product again.

oddly my horses like it's better than the apple flavor sand clear has
My horses were full of sand and I had been trying everything. This product is helping slowly but surely and they prefer the taste.

Easy to feed
I have 3 horses and this is easy to feed, all ate every bit with their grain. I even wet it down for my mare and she ate is right up.Much more affordable than others.

This stuff does the job!
We live in a very sandy area, and sand colic is a problem. Sand Clear, while a good product, is not exaclty favored by my horses. I feel I pay top dollar to watch half of it go to waste as my horses avoid eating it.I feed AniPsyl mixed with sweet feed one week out of each month. When the horses are just on pasture then only one week every three months. The lose husk sticks to the sweet feed minimizing waste, and the horses injest the whole dose.To provide an example of how well this works - my first bought of sand colic left my gelding stretched out day after day, grunting and moaning. The vet came out and instructed me to keep him drinking and fed high fiber feed. Despite this he was miserable on and off for over three weeks. We just couldn't get all the sand to pass. Within two days of dosing him with AniPsyl he was passing handfuls of sand. It cleaned him out - And I have never had to deal with that kind of sand build up since in any of the horses. It gets the job done!

Psyllium safe for Horse prone to laminitis
When My horse foundered, and we suspected Insulin Resistance, I started looking for sugar free psyllium. FINALLY, I found AniPsyll. Living on a dirt pasture (Florida), I mix psyllium with their feed 2xs a week, followed by sugarfree beet pulp mash. My horses like it (or do not notice it, or miss the sugar flavoring most products add). I am very happy with the price, and the service from this site, too. Highy reccommend this.

sand colic
Minis are notorious ground feeders, so I routinely feed AniPhysll 1 week each month and have been for past ten years.

I love this product. It has been great at helping my horses with colic. My Peruvian Paso had a horrible case of colic, the vet didn't think he would make it through the night. He survived and was treated with AniPyll. It's been a year and he's been doing great thanks to his monthly treatment.

is this powder?
A shopper on Mar 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The AniPsyll in my opinion looks like very fine saw dust. Of course it is NOT saw dust. But to me is the best way to describe its consistancy. I am very pleased with this product and even have a friend that uses it as well.
If I feed this product for a week once a month like you would do with Sand Clear, how much should i feed?
olivia l on Apr 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Im feeding 3 ozs (scoops) every day for maintenance. The instructions say 9, I think, for therapeutic. ..that's if you have symptoms. I would use the the therapeutic dose if you're only wanting to do it for a week...it's not designed to be used like Sand Clear.
does this product come in a larger size?
BABETTE L on Apr 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately this only comes in the 4.85 lbs size
