Alway recommend MSM
I have been feeding MSM for years, so I can't say that starting this brand made a difference in my horse. What I can say is that she's 16, a late bloomer, and has decided late in life that eventing is fun! MSM, in my opinion, has kept my horse feeling young and moving great. It's an inexpensive option in preventative care

Love this product as an addition to the Aniflex complete. Wonderful for joints and makes their coats soft and sleek. This is so affordable as well.

Good product affordable pricing.
Added it along with Animed Pure flex (cut the dosage back a little) for more inflammation relief. Seems to be helping my 20 yr old gelding who has an arthritic right front foot. Have not seen any adverse side effects as you would with many NSAIDS.

there was a slight "off" in his gait, there and gone, location ?.? On this product the "lameness/stiffness" has left and not returned even under steady work.

Great product when you can get it.
This has been a great product for us and our horses over the years. It is somewhat expensive but seems to really help when used with the Animed Glucosamine . Only complaint is that we have not been able to depend on the availability. Horse.com is frequently out of stock and when date of restock arrives it routinely gets extended.
Has a measure with it so very easy to use the correct amount.
Was happy to find this again at a good price. My new horse ate it with no problem just put in with his feed and he licked the pan clean.
Great price!
Best priced msm on the market. Has a tendency to clump but is easily broken up.I feed it to 3 of my 4 horses!
MSM is a wonderful product,
We have used MSM for over 35 years, it has multiple healing properties!
Great for Arthritis
I have used this product for years with my horses and myself. It is greatfor arthritis or the prevention of more damage.
Great for mild lameness
Worked very well for my horse on soreness in his feet from founder tendencies
Good price and quality.
I checked other websites and Horse.com had a good price.
Helps with insect allergies
I have used MSM over the years for different horses - for different problems. Right now, I am using it to help alleviate histamine reactions from the biting bugs during the summer. It has really helped my horses this year - fewer lumps, less scratching from itchiness, overall more comfortable horses! This brand stays nicely granulized, even in hot temperatures. I have tried some other brands that clump, but this one does not.Tip: Dribble a little water over the MSM in your feed bucket to help it dissolve and stick to the grain. It doesn't have a flavor, but if you leave it in the granular form, some horses will let it sift to the bottom of the feed bucket.
Keeps senior horse sound!
I have my 30 year old gelding on this product along with Corta-FLX HA-100 Solution. Everyone including the Vet and Horseshoer are amazed at his condition. I still ride him out on the trail and he still leaves everyone in the dust, even at the walk and trot, and he's got short little legs at only 14.1 hands! BTW, he use to be a Hunter/jumper for kids until he was 15. Still going strong and I believe it's due to these 2 products!
Was good vaule
Seems to be working so far , got more than I thought it was
Product works well
Have used this product for a few years and my horse have done well on it
THESE MSM IS THE SAME AS HUMAN BUT CHEAPER! YES
Yes y try these and the human on miself for my Asthma IS GREAT YM ASTHMA FREE TAKE IT TWICE A DAY. CANT LIVE WITHOUT IT.THE ONE FIR HUMAN COST TWICE AS MUCH OR MORE.! Befire these y was hospitalized 59 times No more thank god for msm!!being taking msm for a year.!!
MSM is great.
I use the pure MSM on my dogs. They are English Mastiffs, which tend to have joint and hip issues.
Product works great
We started using this because we have an older mare 23 yrs old that is being ridden by a 6 yr old and is learning to do barrels. We found our mare was a little stiff in her right front but after being on msm ahe would pick up right lead. We ended up not reordering one time and she went back to being stiff so now she's on permanently. She's doi ng wonderful and these two are having a blast. Thanks horse.Com for having it at a lower price. Keep it low so our mare will be comfortable.
Best price on MSM
This was the best price I could find on internet.
Great for inflammation
I have a horse who is on and off again lame for no apparent reason for a couple of years. My vet recommendated adding MSM to his diet along with joint supplements. I have been using AniMed MSM for over a year now and he is no longer showing any signs of lamenes. The price is reasonable and he gobbles it up. I am very impressed and happy with the product.
Good product.
At first my horse didn't really like it, but eventually she ate her daily dose. I believe her legs are acting better. She was stiff legged before and now can walk normally.
Great for joints!
We have been buying this MSM for years & have been very pleased with the results on joints. The price from this company is fantastic!
Has helped or horses and dogs
W have been using MSM for about 10 years. Our horses and dogs all improved, not cured, but much better. Also, the product is available in a 10 lb. container. We used to get our supply from the feed and grain store, but much better price from Horse.com. We would definitely recommend this product.
I have 21 horses and they r all on this. Have had great success with this I have a 28 year old barrel horse still running and still sound. I feel this is why.
Great Product
I have been using this product for a very long time. Helps my horses feel better and perform to the best of their ability.
great
It makes a difference on my older mare with arthritis, when I added the fort-a flex pellets with HA it makes an even bigger difference.
good product, good price.
All of my horses have been on MSM for years. Less expensive than some supplements and I find it fairly effective. I definitely noticed a difference in my old stallion when he wasn't on it.. He was harder to warm up when he wasn't on MSM.. He lived to 31, competed at low level eventing till he was 25.. His daughter now on it as well..
great product for the money
I have used AniMed Pure MSM on my horses for years...they are all in their teens and showed pretty heavy over the years....we are now all retired and still getting MSM. It is a reasonably priced way to help the joints and their general good health in my feed program.
Quality at a good price.
Our vet recommended this product to us a few years back, we give it to all 3 horses, and they have never refused it, has helped prevent further problems.
Great Product!!
MSM is one of the main ingredients in most high end joint/connective tissue supplements. I like a good deal, so I have been using pure MSM for all my horses for a while now! Love it, I feel like my senior gelding moves better, my "accident prone" filly has been on MSM for a while now and I know its helping her heal. I even give it to my senior dog by mixing it in her water. MSM doesnt taste that great but all my animals have gotten used to it and it's no big deal for them. LOVE THIS PRODUCT AND ITS PRICE!!!
Excellent product that really makes a difference!
I have used this product for years and I am so grateful you make it easy to order and get it here when expected. I know I can count on your help. Thank you and God Bless You,Deborah GrahamMy Lord's Arabians
Good for dogs too!
I use this for my dog. She gets around better now. Price was great compared to local feed store.
Trusted product, great price
We have trusted AniMed for a long time and consistently use this product as part of a joint supplement regimen, typically along with Glucosamine. The price is hard to beat, too, especially when we've had consistently good results using this.
Good stuff.
We've used this for our senior horses for years. The new packaging is a bit cumbersome, hard to get the lid off the bucket.
Excellent Value
Consistency is KEY when supplementing, so do what you can afford to do consistently! With all the spendy combo joint supplements out there, you have to wonder...are they worth the money? I have found that AniMed MSM on its own keeps my teenage trail horse geldings moving along just fine. I've used a number of spendy namebrand combo joint supplements over the years, but using the AniMed MSM, the AniMed Biotin, and a vitamin/mineral grass hay formulated feed supplement that I won't name just in case I'm not supposed to work great for our herd.

can I take this animed msm for myself ?
BEST ANSWER: I strongly suspect that this product is OptiMSM, because it is domestically manufactured, because it contains NO fillers (flow agents), and because the label calls out 100 percent purity. AFAIK, such a product is similar only to OptiMSM, which is the purest form of MSM available. The only downside with this product is that it is granulated rather than powdered, which means that it does not dissolve into solution quite as easily. It seems to work a charm on this particular bipedal "horse" for allergies and arthritis. I can see no significant reason to prefer some other form of MSM through some other distribution channel.

I wouldn't. Animal supplements may not be manufactured to as high a standard as is required for human supplements. And how would you calculate the dosage?
I have taken it for years with no harm and much benefit. So have friends to whom I have recommended it. It is 100% pure MSM. Though it is sold for horses, it is safe for humans. The book "The MSM Miracle" mentions that it is safe for humans and more cheaply obtained through veterinary suppliers. You can safely use this yourself.
Thank you penny. A friend of mine takes it daily and recommended to me and after reading that it was for animals only I wasn't so sure that I wanted to take it.
I believe that it says for animal use only but I must admit that I take it myself along with giving it to my horses daily.

I am going to use the pure msm for my dog and want to know how to administer it. Can I mix it in water? Or do I put it in their food or just give them an 1/8 tsp of powder directly into their mouth?

BEST ANSWER: When I feed the msm to my dog I typically mix it in just enough of something she likes (yogurt, peanut butter, etc.) to incorporate the msm, and give it to her in a small bowl. I've found that she eats it the best this way. Hope that helps!

I would mix it with their food, it's bitter by itself or wrap it in a piece of cheese and give it to him that way.... I don't think he would drink the water if you put it in....
I mix it with food have been giving it for years this way. They don't even know it's there. I believe it's tasteless, i give my 95 lb German Shepherd three 1/8 tsp daily.
I wish I could help. I bought it a long time ago. Any MSM I just put on their feed and they ate it. I hope that helps. If not maybe contact the company?? Good Luck!
Mix it in food. A Tbsp of canned food works well
I add to food with a little water

You can purchase MSM for people. I have personally used MSM from my horse's stash but being granulated it's not the best delivery system. I would purchase from a nutrition store if i was going to take myself.
I personally have never used it for any human care. I do however give it twice daily to all 11 horses and 2 dogs
I only use it for horses, so I wouldn't know if it was safe for humans. Sorry, can't help.

how many mg in a scoop?
A shopper
on Nov 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The scoop has a large end and a small end. The large end is one tablespoon or 1/2 ounce. The Animed label says there 28,000 mg MSM per ounce, so a tablespoon is 14,000 mg MSM. The small end is one teaspoon. Since there are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon, the small end holds one third as much.

This comes with a double ended scoop. The large end is 1 tbsp, approximately half an ounce which would be 14,000 mg of MSM. Loading dose for a horse is 1 tbsp AM and PM for a week, then only 1 tbsp per day. For my mare with arthritis I actually keep her on 1 tbsp AM and PM.

Is this product safe to give a mare infoal?
BEST ANSWER: MSM is a blood thinner. I would not administer this to any mammal in the later stages of pregnancy for this reason. Administration should likewise be discontinued leading up to a planned surgical operation. You want the natural clotting process to be unaffected at these times; so any blood thinner should be avoided.
