SUE L on Jun 10, 2016
My old rescue mare is 25 now, and has arthritis in her front legs. I keep her on the glucosamine 5000 all the time, and it enables her to trot, and even lope at times, so this can only benefit her further.
Vicki A on Jun 3, 2016
It is good for aged and young performance horses.

LORRAINE S on Nov 26, 2015
This is the cheapest, purest MSM ever. It takes them a while to get used to the taste if they are not eating a lot of grain with it, but eventually everyone I've given it to has ended up not sifting it out too bad. I even take it myself when I'm feeling sore.
CHRISTINE C on Aug 14, 2015
Have tried several different brands over the years. This is pure, and doesn't cake, plus it's inexpensive if you buy it on sale in the bigger pails.
Jaye L on Jul 31, 2015
works well on my yearling
Elizabeth P on Jul 29, 2015
Love and trust Animed!
ABBY W on Jul 25, 2015
I've been using this product for 2 yrs really works and price is good.
connie v on Jun 14, 2015
I have used this before and felt my horses benefited from it. I tried another brand, but in comparison, the AniMed has twice the milligram amount than the other. I noticed the difference in the effectiveness; better with AniMed. It is quite economical too. I added the AniMed Glucosamine, but really haven't noticed any greater benefit than with just using the MSM. I am a big believer in MSM. Will not reorder the Glucosamine.
JENNIFER Z on Jun 12, 2015
I have been using this product for years and have always been satisfied with the product. I did/do hate the new lid locking system, but am hoping they have reverted back to the old regular lid on this as they appear to have done with the last animed biotin I ordered.
DEANNE M on Jun 12, 2015
This has made a world of difference for my old mare! She has suffered from arthritis for a few years now. This has been the biggest help!

A friend told me her vet suggested it for arthritis for her horse. She was told MSM had 10,000 of the ingredient that really helps horses with arthritis issues. I thought I'd give it a try.

I use Pure MSM for myself because it helps to stop inflamation. I wanted my horse to have MSM to help releive any inflamation issues.
Kathryn R on Feb 23, 2015
Helps my horse have better movement when his legs are sore
Lorraine K on Feb 17, 2015
I started using MSM for my own joint issues. After much success for myself did some research and found that it was originally given to livestock. So I started giving it to my horses several years ago - and to date no lameness or stiff joint issues. Knock on wood. I have a 20 year old and 13 year old horse.

Can you feed it without grain/hay but with another supplement(that resembles grain)?
Ilana M on Jun 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Of course. It is a tasteless granule, so if it falls to the bottom of the feeder and your horse misses it, just dampen with a little water. It is very water soluble - that will make it stick to the feed.
how many mg in a scoop?
A shopper on Nov 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The scoop has a large end and a small end. The large end is one tablespoon or 1/2 ounce. The Animed label says there 28,000 mg MSM per ounce, so a tablespoon is 14,000 mg MSM. The small end is one teaspoon. Since there are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon, the small end holds one third as much.
is this product safe for humans to use?
vicky k on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I can tell you that my husband and I take it all the time and haven't had any adverse effects. I don't know what the difference is between this product and the MSM that you would buy from the health food store.
Where is it made?
A shopper on Nov 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It says manufactured in Kentucky but I also noticed that on the product page in there's a little flag that says MADE IN USA
I am going to use the pure msm for my dog and want to know how to administer it. Can I mix it in water? Or do I put it in their food or just give them an 1/8 tsp of powder directly into their mouth?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: When I feed the msm to my dog I typically mix it in just enough of something she likes (yogurt, peanut butter, etc.) to incorporate the msm, and give it to her in a small bowl. I've found that she eats it the best this way. Hope that helps!
what is the source of your msm?
maria a on Aug 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It doesn't give a source on the label, just says "Contains 100% Methylsufonylmethane (MSM) and no fillers"
Maybe you should contact the manufacturer....
Works for me and my two 30 year old mares....
can I take this animed msm for myself ?
Jim P on Apr 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I strongly suspect that this product is OptiMSM, because it is domestically manufactured, because it contains NO fillers (flow agents), and because the label calls out 100 percent purity. AFAIK, such a product is similar only to OptiMSM, which is the purest form of MSM available. The only downside with this product is that it is granulated rather than powdered, which means that it does not dissolve into solution quite as easily. It seems to work a charm on this particular bipedal "horse" for allergies and arthritis. I can see no significant reason to prefer some other form of MSM through some other distribution channel.
Is this product safe to give a mare infoal?
lisa k on Oct 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: MSM is a blood thinner. I would not administer this to any mammal in the later stages of pregnancy for this reason. Administration should likewise be discontinued leading up to a planned surgical operation. You want the natural clotting process to be unaffected at these times; so any blood thinner should be avoided.
Is this MSM 99% pure?
Linda N on Aug 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Container says 100% pure. I have been using for my horse for a while now, and noticed a difference. When I didn't give it for a couple feedings, I really noticed he needed it. Each horse is different, obviously.
is your msm made by distillation?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi shopper, I started MSM last week, so I don't really have a result yet, But thrilled all 7 of the boys ate it with their grain. It is outside so I am not sure if it is made by distillation, but I can check
