Really good price and quantity. The horse, a mare, that is eating it is doing really well on it. A whole lot more affordable than other ulcer medication/treatments. Results are great!!

Powder or pellet?
Marlowe W on Apr 13, 2016
Best Answer: Powder. Every horse I have put on it has eaten it with no problems. I currently have 15 horses on it daily. I've been using this product for years and really like it. Sandee

how long do you feed ulc-r-aid to them?
A shopper on Oct 18, 2016
Best Answer: From my experience as long as they are being put into the stressful situation that causes the ulcers you give it to them. When the training or situation changes or ends and you turn them out you can stop. It may take something stronger to get them under control initially. A prescription from your yet

Would Animed Ulc-R-Aid help with adding needed Magnesium and immune support for an Insulin Resistant horse? She tends toward obesity. I'd like to get her up to 16 grams of Magnesium a day for about three months then decrease until I can find right dosage to keep symptoms away. That means I'd have to feed about 6 1/2 oz of Animed a day. Would that be TOO MUCH of the other included supplements? Or should I use this, plus add Magnesium straight supplement with it? Or should I look for different product altogether? My goal is immune support, gut health and Magnesium/Calcium balance. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
TRINA S on Mar 1, 2015
Best Answer: Has your horse been diagnosed with insulin resistance by a vet? Either way, it sounds like she has some very specific needs that should be addressed by a vet. A doctor can assess whether or not the ingredients cover the needs of your horse. Best of luck!

Can this product be used when using a probiotic product, or is this overkill?
A shopper on Mar 25, 2017
Best Answer: We use both to keep our gelding's gut happy. They work together well for him. If he is going to be in a situation where he will be stressed we add omeprazole as well. Having free choice grass hay and no grain has been helpful.

If used in addition to via calm, is that putting too much calcium and/or magnesium in their system ? They seem to have essentially the same ingredients.
Tina M on Aug 11, 2016
Best Answer: If the ingredients are nearly the same then I personally would just switch to the Ulc-R-Aid. I have been using this product on all of my horses and it has a very calming effect as well as a great immune booster. It is Very effective on ulcer prone horses. I start a new horse on a loading dose for about 2 weeks or until they start noticablly passing gas, then back them down to the normal dose. My mares seem much less cranky then they were now and the Stallions are all calm and comfortable.
