This Saddle Pad draws rave reviews from top riders worldwide, so think what it can do for you and your horse. By uniting the technologies of Back on Track® and ThinLine®, we’ve developed the most technically advanced Saddle Pad available in the world today. The Contender II Dressage Saddle Pad delivers therapeutic thermal warmth with Back on Track’s state-of-the art Welltex fabric. This specially designed fabric reflects your horse’s natural body warmth and creates a soothing far infrared thermal warmth. Tired or sore back muscles may experience relief from this soft warmth therapy. Combine this with ThinLine’s UltraThinLine material, which provides maximum shock absorption and comfort for both you and your horse by diffusing concussion and impact. This is my favorite saddle pad! I use it basically every time I ride, almost without exception. My gray Arabian mare has sensitive skin, and she is comfortable in this. I keep it clean by washing it regularly in mild soap and air dry.

Super high quality!
The only pad I will buy! It changed my horses performance the very first ride, no more hating to be saddled and sore back is a thing of the past. The high quality of Back on Track products are unbeatable. The price reflects the quality and I believe are very competitive with high end tack. I use all Back on track products exclusively now and will never go back to lesser products they deliver the performance they describe.

I want my horse to enjoy our rides as much as I do. Seeking a pad that makes her comfortable under saddle.

Did you need to use a wither booster or just the pad? I am V. Ashton of CT and the description implies that you don't -- I have used back on track pads before with wither pads so I am impressed by back on track. All I am asking is can you abandon a wither pad as it seems to imply. We have a fair amount of dressage riders but I have a size 18 Pessoa ( I am tall sadly). It is a good saddle. I am trying to avoid taxing a horse that is about 12 or 15 years as he is a sweetie. Plus, I had considered a Steffan Peters fancy pad with something built in or just getting a Ogilvy JUMPER HALF PAD OR DRESSAGE PAD (STRICTLY FOR HORSE AND RIDER COMFORT AND BACK PROTECTION FOR THE HORSE) MIGHT WORK.

BEST ANSWER: The answer depends on the horse and the saddle fit I guess. I am a huge fan of the thin line products and don't use anything else on my horses. I use Thinline shims on one side because one of my horses is a little uneven. They fit neatly and securely in the pockets.
In short, assuming your saddle fit is good I do not think you need a wither booster.
I have been really happy with the pad and all the Thinline pads (I've been using them for about 8 years now). I think the horses appreciate them and I like the closeness you achieve without all the puffy layers between you and your horse!
