Product Summary:

Baker Heavyweight Turnout Blanket 400 gram

Same durability as the original Baker Stable Blanket in a turnout!  Features 400 grams of Curvofil IV polyester insulation and to keep your horse warm.   The outer shell is a 1,200-denier polyester fabric that can take an incredible amount of abuse while the satin smooth nylon lining polishes the horse’s coat.  A waterproof/breathable membrane bars water penetration yet allows water vapor from perspiration to pass through to the outside. The horse stays warm, dry and comfortable down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have a 250 fill blanket now and he shivers in it. Should I go to 360 or 400? He's 26 and hard to keep weight on

BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately you won't know for sure until he wears it. It may work best to get the lighter one and, then if it isn't enough, to layer them. My own horse never grows a winter coat to speak of, and that's what I do. I also find that a neck cover really improves the warmth factor of any blanket or combination of blankets. Hope this helps!
