Not for flat backed horse
I bought this saddle for my TWH. I thought since it was for a gaited horse it would fit but it didn't fit at all because my horse like most TWH has a flat back with no curve so it rocked on his back. It would fit a Paso or other horses that are more curvy.

Love it!
This is the best saddle I have had in my 40 years of riding. So light weight and comfortable for someone with hip and knee problems. Showing a little wear after 4 years, but I would buy another.

Comfortable saddle, fits my "mutton withered" Tenn
Comfortable saddle, although I will say that the fenders are way longer than most fenders - I had to put another set of holes on each side in order to make my stirrups the proper length. Also, the stirrup fenders seem to have you sitting in a "chair position" unless you work them back a little bit. Fits my "mutton withered" Tenn Walker well when no other saddle would! I would recommend it if you have a hard to fit gaited horse!

GREAT!
I love this saddle its so comfortable, and durable. My paint/arab has been difficult to fit with a saddle and she was having attitude problems and when we put this saddle on her it was like a different horse! The only thing that is wrong with the saddle is its built for someone really tall! I'm 5'4 and on the shortest setting my legs were reaching for the stirrups, but theres plenty of room to make your own holes! would definitely recommend this saddle to everyone!

Please explain the difference between the gaited bars and the semi Qt bars and full Qt bars. I am not asking the gullet width that is stated. I want to know the difference in the bars and how they differ from each other?
Thank you Holly F.
Holly F on Mar 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: American Saddlery, the Manufacturer of this saddle, advises us that along with the gullet widths, the pitch/angle is different for each type of bar. Semi Quarter Horse bars are steeper, and full Quarter Horse bars are more open to accommodate a wider horse. The Gaited and Arabian bars have more twist/curvature from front to back as well as more bar flare in front for more shoulder clearance.
Are gaited bars or semi quarter horse bars more narrow? My older twh has a narrow top line. I've measured him & Im still having a hard time figuring out which bars would fit him better. I understand this a tough question because there is so much that goes into saddle fitting but thought Id ask anyways.
Thank-you. Mandy

BEST ANSWER: Generally gaited bars ARE considered more narrow, but you're right, there is a lot more to consider. Your best bet is to consult a saddle fitter, trainer, or other knowledgeable horseperson who can physically examine your horse in person and advise you.
I have a 260 which one of my TWH's withers have out grow. I also have a dated 250, doesn't fit either. I want to try the 2644. Do you take returns if it doesn't work ?

Can you tell me where to measure my saddly vs this one to find gullett size? Is this returnable if it does'nt fit?
karan s on Aug 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Gullet width is measured across the conchos positioned under the fork. Please keep in mind Manufacturers do this from the "skeleton" of the saddle before the leather is built on top, so the finished saddle may appear to have a smaller gullet.
Color options?
Kathy on Dec 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think it was only in black. It is lightweight and great for an older person to use. Lighter than some English saddles that I work with.
1) Do you make a black Big Horn synthetic saddle with semi quarter horse bars, not full quarter horse bars?

2) I have a Big Horn 101 and 501 and I'd love to find another one. Why don't you use style numbers any more?
