Looks and works great!
I got these for attaching my saddlebags and such. They work fine and look really good, plus they are easy to attach or detach. Definitely recommend these saddle strings!

Good heavy strings
These saddle strings are very heavy and durable. The problem I have is that they are to thick and hard to tie. I would buy thinner strings if I could have felt them before buying them.

Really nice saddle strings especially at this price. The only thing I'd change is a little bit longer- otherwise pretty much perfect!

BEST ANSWER: The clip is 1 1/2" long. Length including the "D" it is 2 1/2" long. Just shy of 3/4" wide. (11/16")

how do you attach to saddle?
BEST ANSWER: It goes where one of the Concho is. Unscrew the Concho and screw this in its place. If your not sure what it is, then Google image parts of western saddle. If you have no strings then you should have 4, 2 up front and 2 in the back, some time a saddle can have 6 or even 8 depending on the design.

Unscrew a concho, place the saddle string''s clip over the hole the concho's screw came out of and reinsert the concho's screw through the saddle string's clip and back into the hole and tighten.
The way I did mine was use an existing screw where a rosset was. I took out the rosset and replaced with the Cashel Clip-on saddle string. Hope this helps.
The leather or silver conchos unscrew and you place the tab on the strings under the concho, line it up and screw the concho back in.
Hole in clip can be attached under existing concho. My saddle already had ring so I just needed to re-attach leather strings.
Unscrew the concho place over the hole where the screw goes back in and reattach the concho.
On my saddle there was a Concho and screw that I placed it under and then screwed back on
You have to remove the rosette and then screw into the hole provided when you reattach.
The concho on the saddle must come off, mine screwed off by hand.

how long are the strings?

BEST ANSWER: I am not positive because I didn't measure them before responding, but my best guess would be at least 18 inches. They are definitely long enough to tie on a rain slicker or jacket. I have done that with them! Very good quality leather!!! I would buy them again...and my look to see if they have some really dark ones to go on another saddle I own.

They are 24 inches from the end of the love knots to the tip of the string.
The strings are 24" long. The leather is very supple and of good quality.
Plenty long, 18" + I believe.

is the ring included in the price, or just the leather string?

The strings come with a metal ring and is attached to a metal plate with a hole for the chicago screw.
The ring and string are all together and very good quality leather. Just screw it on your saddle.
The metal piece with the ring is included. They are nice and a perfect length.
I ended up not using mine, but the attachment ring is included.

BEST ANSWER: When i have bought this item, it was just one, you had to buy two of them to have them for each side of the saddle. I will say they are nice quality and i have been very pleased with them.

It comes as one. I tie a lot to my saddle it is anchored under my councho's which have two each of these on per councho. So far no problem.
Sold as a single. Good quality.
