Cashel Leg Guard
These are great, I mainly bought them to protect my horses front leg from getting scraped when she lays down and they did the trick.

Had at least 6 pairs of these.
They are our go to fly wraps . Start off a little on the stiff side, but soon soften up Wear fairly well , as our horses are out in pastures every day , and wear them every day ., live in Florida so tons of Flys .

My horse hated them
I put these on my horse's back legs and he stood perfectly still until I was done and went to walk then went crazy and totally freaking out with them on. It was kind of scary getting them off but I managed. Totally bummed because they looked like they fit well and would do a good job keeping flys away but unfortunately won't work on my horse. He didn't like the feel of them when he tried to walk. I have used cashel stall boots on his rear legs and he was ok as they are soft but these ..not at all. Use caution when trying them because there are a lot of fasteners to remove quickly if you have to.

Great fly boots
The Cashel brand is an awesome fly boot. I own 8 horses and one pony. These are the best so far and I have bought every type of fly wrap on the market. I love the leg socks I bought for one of my horses that tears off fly boots but they are a pain to take off and put on. My other horses don't bother their boots and the Cashel fit perfect and don't fall down. Cashel is now my favorite fly protection boot along with the fly mask they make.

Very useful Product
Only complaint is that not long enough. Bought Arab size for my Arab but she is leggy and the boots fall short of her knees and hocks so flies are biting above. However, the product works wonderfully. She has been wearing them now for a few weeks and no rubs, even when we leave on 24hrs. Fabulous product for a bad fly season here in Texas due to no winter! The boots have held up well even with the mare going back and forward thru a creek everyday.

I have three horses that I use these fly boots for front and rear, and they are perfect. With such a light winter in California the flys have been extremely bad for us this year. my horses wear their boots 24/7 unless I am riding I've replaced two sets in 7 months but if I add up the amount I would have spent on fly spray I would rather buy new sets every month.

Bad design, but good quality materials
These boots just do not fit any of my horses. The fit-form shape is wrong for the paso fino for sure, but not sure how they do for other breeds. The quality of the material is good, but the fitted fetlock places the bottom down beyond the hoof and the upper leg too short - I tried 2 different sizes and neither fit. My horses hated them, and even my most tolerant old guy pulled them off in no time. I use boots a lot so they are usually very accepting, but I think these rub and when they don't fit, it really bothers the horses. Can't recommend these at all, but LOVE Cashel masks!

works okay
I have to use these on my donkeys since they are the only ones that come in smaller sizes and thank you for that! But they actually do sag a bit and sometimes the velcro gives out when muddied, so I have to monitor and keep them clean and replaced. Then the package only has 2???!! Welllll, they do have 4 legs! so what's up with that?! Then you have to go back and order 2 more for the hind legs and pricing is the same, so now you've paid twice as much (as Prof. Choice!). Now, of course, this is a Cashel issue and not Horse.com, so there might not be so much control and I do appreciate having the smaller sizes available to me. So, I will "deal" to keep the donks protected. But I do wish I could get smaller sizes in the Professionals Choice brand. Overall, all's well.

over all really like the product
I think the sizing must run a tad large, I measured my qh mare, and bought the arab size mask and front boots, the boots are still big, mask is fine. Back boots were reg size, they are also too big, only problem with that is they tend to slip down. One back boot is already torn from being drug on the ground. Definitely worth the money, and seem well made, just run a tad large

I have tried several leg guards and these by far have the best fit. I have Arabians and they seem to run true to size. I did get medium pony for my small Arabian gelding.

Bought the "Horse" size before, but they were too large for my 15.2h Paint mare. Excellent product other than size.

These fly boots keep my equines from getting bloody fly bites in the summer.

The reviews for the Cashel fly boots were overwhelmingly positive, and I also have a friend who highly recommends them.

Cashel holds up the best and stay up. I have not had good luck with the others
WENDY D on May 8, 2014
I want to try this brand because I know they make a good product. Their masks are very durable and last year after year. Fly boots give your horse relief, I've been buying fly boots (leg guards) for years and most fall down so I'm hoping these work.

I have used these before and they fit well and are the best fly boots. They do not slip down at all.

Do you get 4 boots or just 2?
A shopper on Sep 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought two, for the front feet. They stay in place and do not slide down. Whenever they need cleaning, I just throw them in the washer with my old barn clothes and have never had an issue with them shrinking or falling apart. This is my second season using them and they have held up beautifully. They keep my horses from stomping their feet when the flies land on them. I would highly recommend them. If you have questions about fit, call the customer service department; I did, and they helped me pick the correct size.
what are the length of the fly boots??
Andrea S on May 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The warmblood size pictured is 9 1/2 inches from the fetlock up .
Do these come in Warmblood size?
Susan B on Oct 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They do, although unfortunately we are sold out of that size for the season.
What is the difference between small pony and Medium pony?
A shopper on Jul 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Pony size can vary according to disciplines & regulations.

Generaly speaking a pony is under 14.2hh. A small pony is 12.2hh & under. Medium is over 12.2hh & under 13.2hh. Large is 13.2hh but no taller that 14.2.

Also specific breed registries do not regard an equine under 14.2hh as a pony but as a horse.
Do you typically order a size up for hind legs to cover the length of the leg? My horse is horse-sized, but his hind legs are longer than the front.
A shopper on Dec 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: When ordering boots you always want to go up a size for the backs. Example if your horse is a medium in the front then order a large for the back.
I have an Arabian does that mean from the chart I should get the "horse" size or the "small/arab"?
