Product Summary:

Cavallo Sport Boot Pastern Wrap

Easy to wrap around the pastern and attaches to the boot.  Sold in pairs.

Instructions:

1.  Velcro the Cavallo wrap around the hoof, keeping it low to the ground around the bottom of the bulb and drawing the elastic diagonally upward from back to front.
2.  Place the boot on the hoof, toe first, ensuring that the wrap lies flat.  Velcro the red tab from the pastern wrap onto the red Velcro on the tongue of the boot.
3.  Carry on your boot fastening procedure as normal.

Remember that there is a break-in period required to soften the leather at the bulbs and around the collar of your horse's new boots. Like your own riding boots, it is recommended that time is taken to gradually break-in your boots. The first day the boots should be worn for 20-30 minutes, during turn-out or riding. The next day, you can increase the time and so on. Horse's hoofs, skin thickness, bulb sensitivity and conditioning can cary, so please monitor the wear and increase time in the boots as appropriate. You can speed up the break-in process by using a leather softener of your choice and/or riding through water.

Great protection
Great protection from a boot. Really stays in place well and does the job it was intended too.

Just what I needed.
I have Easyboot New Trail boots for my horse. I've had some problem with rubbing and some irritation from them, also they are a little big when my horse is recently trimmed. The Wraps help with the fit and the rubbing. I have been able to ride longer distances with less problems. They work pretty well with the Easyboots too. They do seem a little expensive for what you get though.

Sport boot pastern wraps
I did not like these at all the don't stay on or in place ..was a waist of my money

will wait until I use this pair
I previously had a pair but they would not stay down around the bulbs. I am going to try again in case I did not have them placed correctly. The boots are unusable without them as they rub the bulbs badly.

nice wrap
I like the wrap fine but its a little small, I bought a size 3 boots and they said get the wraps the same but I should of gotten a large set with the size 3s. I just got them and ran out to see If they fit. the boots fit snug but the wrap was very tight and bunched up on his foot after our walk, so am going to get the larger size

I ordered 3 pairs of the boots and decided to go on and get the Pastern Wraps as well. Glad I did. They add extra protection to the heel of my horses from rubbing. I ordered a small for my horse that wears a size 1 in the trek boot and a medium for my horses that wear a size 2 in the trek boot. A small in the pastern wrap is too small for the horse that wears a size 2. Be careful not to order a size too small. I do recommend using wraps with the boots.

Sizing information for product not correct
The horse I ordered the product for has and wears a Cavallo size 2 boots. The information when ordering presents the small size as the correct size to order. The product could not even be fastened around the horse's hoof.

Stitching coming apart
Stitching is coming apart at the seams, that with having purchased a size larger than recommended (which was great advise from another user, otherwise they would not go on). Made in China, workmanship shows that. Used less than a dozen times. Is good for protecting the pastern from the boot, is the only reason I'd recommend.

most usable size
I was disappointed that the size pastern boot Cavello(small) recommended for my pair of Trek boots was way to small. So, I am ordered the medium size and recommending that any one else ordering to select the medium size also unless your horse is a cob or pony.

Does this boot cover the hole hoof and if so will it work with barefoot horses on rocky terrain?
A shopper on Aug 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These just wrap around the pastern and do not cover the hoof. They are meant to be used in conjunction with the cavallo boots to help prevent rubbing from the boots. They won't do much to help protect a barefoot horse since they don't cover the bottom of the hoof. Hoof boots will definitely meet your needs, but not these pastern wraps.
Would these pastern wraps work with the Easyboot Trail boots? I have been using these boots since last fall, and still having problems with rubbing my horse's heels when I ride.
KAREN B on Mar 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use them with cavallo boots and they work grea, as the boots rubbed my horse's heels toot. I would imagine they would work ok with the easyboot as long as there is some room between the foot and the boot as basically it's like putting a sock on in a shoe, makes the fit more snug.
will these fit miniature horse?
Elaine T on Mar 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't have a mini, but I think based on how it fits my QH I would say no, but if you call Cavallo, or email them they are very friendly and helpful. If they don't have anything, it may be something they come up with in the future, if the seed is planted...... Good luck
can this boot be used outside in fields and how do you size it?
p. c on Dec 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They recommend only using this boot on the horse while you can supervise them.
