Cavallo Sport Boot Pastern Wrap

Easy to wrap around the pastern and attaches to the boot.  Sold in pairs.

Instructions:

1.  Velcro the Cavallo wrap around the hoof, keeping it low to the ground around the bottom of the bulb and drawing the elastic diagonally upward from back to front.
2.  Place the boot on the hoof, toe first, ensuring that the wrap lies flat.  Velcro the red tab from the pastern wrap onto the red Velcro on the tongue of the boot.
3.  Carry on your boot fastening procedure as normal.

Remember that there is a break-in period required to soften the leather at the bulbs and around the collar of your horse's new boots. Like your own riding boots, it is recommended that time is taken to gradually break-in your boots. The first day the boots should be worn for 20-30 minutes, during turn-out or riding. The next day, you can increase the time and so on. Horse's hoofs, skin thickness, bulb sensitivity and conditioning can cary, so please monitor the wear and increase time in the boots as appropriate. You can speed up the break-in process by using a leather softener of your choice and/or riding through water.

Does this boot cover the hole hoof and if so will it work with barefoot horses on rocky terrain?
A shopper on Aug 27, 2015
Best Answer: These just wrap around the pastern and do not cover the hoof. They are meant to be used in conjunction with the cavallo boots to help prevent rubbing from the boots. They won't do much to help protect a barefoot horse since they don't cover the bottom of the hoof. Hoof boots will definitely meet your needs, but not these pastern wraps.

Would these pastern wraps work with the Easyboot Trail boots? I have been using these boots since last fall, and still having problems with rubbing my horse's heels when I ride.
KAREN B on Mar 25, 2017
Best Answer: I use them with cavallo boots and they work grea, as the boots rubbed my horse's heels toot. I would imagine they would work ok with the easyboot as long as there is some room between the foot and the boot as basically it's like putting a sock on in a shoe, makes the fit more snug.

will these fit miniature horse?
Elaine T on Mar 15, 2016
Best Answer: I don't have a mini, but I think based on how it fits my QH I would say no, but if you call Cavallo, or email them they are very friendly and helpful. If they don't have anything, it may be something they come up with in the future, if the seed is planted...... Good luck
