These boots are really nice but watch the sizing
We bought these for one of our horses. We measured exactly like they said both in inches and metric and ordered the size they listed for those measurements but they were way to big so we had to send them back and ordered a size smaller and they fit perfect.

Big but great
I have a horse who couldn't hold a shoe and was very tender footed. We are packing and painting with Hawthorne products which are helping him the most but these boots keep his feet off the ground. Not to mention they save my back from the packing process! They do run very large. My horse measured right at the 2 slim and I can barely get them tight enough.

Great boots
These boots are great - my horse has narrower hooves and these fit her perfectly. She adjusted to them almost instantly and has no problem wearing them at all, whether it is just walking or being ridden. She is a TWH and the boots do not interfere with her gait or overstep at all. My only complaint is that I meticulously followed the instructions for measuring but ended up having to order a smaller size. Her measurements were right at the minimum for the larger size so I ordered up, but the boots were like clogs on her. I exchanged for the smaller size and the fit is perfect. Other than that, these boots are great!

My broken down rescued x-racehorse is now moving like the champion he really is! This is an amazing product!

Sole tread is the dealmaker.
I like the thoughtful design of frog support and point of breakover in this boot. All the Cavallo slim sole boots (Simple, Sport, Trek) have this tread. The regular width models have a different sole tread. However, it's not as slim as I thought. My horse has one hoof 5-3/4" wide, the other hoof is 6" wide. Standing in the boots on concrete or grass, there is still room (almost 1/4") clearance, so will definitely allow room for expansion on movement, as well as any flaring that might occur throughout the trim cycle. The boot is deep enough for a thick pad if needed. The fit on my horse is secure and he measures 6-1/8" in length right after trimming. It's much lighter in weight than the Simple Boot. I have this boot in size 5 slim sole for another horse, and it has held up well with night turnout for a few years, still going strong.

easy boots purchase
fast, friendly service and great return policy in addition to a money saving product in lieu of horse shoes every 6 to 8 weeks.

Excellent hoof boot
Have had no issues with the boot. It works well to protect the barefoot hoof. No rubbing problems. So easy to put on and take off.

had to send back due to size
I cannot really review this product because I had to exchange it for a bigger size. I order a size bigger than measurements showed, due to reviews I have read about them running small. But when I received them, indeed they were still too small. So now I wait for the exchange. Maybe after I finally get them & use them I could give a better review!

watch out for size
the boots are nice and recommended by friends, HOWEVER after measuring and measuring and measuring my horse, then ordering the supposedly appropriate size... they are too big for her. Even though they stay on her feet, they are like clogs, so I'm stuck re-ordering a smaller size. To double check my measurements AGAIN, I put the measuring guide into to the boot itself and found that the boot measured a size larger than it should have. Guess I would recommend to order a size smaller than the guide suggests.

There are great features if they would fit right
Husband and I took the sport boots and put them on my horse. He has VERY soft hooves. They kept shifting on his hooves. It was not a very good ride that day. About the price: I expected to receive the sport boots tag to say "Made in America" ; not " Made in China". I'm sorry to say that I didn't like the boots. But we thought they would fit correctly so we put them on without the plastic. Now we are stuck with them. I will be putting the vet wrap and duck tape on the hooves first before I put the boots on. Liked the hoof pick though.

Why did you choose this?

I chose the Cavalla sport because I have 3 pair of the trek boots and love them. I wanted to try these and see how they compared to the trek boot. I basically purchased them for a back up pair because they were less expensive.

I have been using these boots for several years now on all of my horses. They work great, stay in place and truly do protect the hoof better than any boot I've ever had. They wear well and I have had no problems at all with them. They stay on my girls in all sorts of situations ~ galloping, in mud, in the creek, in snow ~ and support tender-footed horses on every terrain. Highly recommended!

My horse is right on the line between a 4 and a 5---exactly in the middle. Should I go with a 4 or 5?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It completely depends on how fresh the trim is on your horse. You may wish to go up to a 5 just in case there is growth.
how do you know what size?
A shopper on Jul 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Best if you measure your horse first before ordering . Please consult this link below to assist with measuring .

Can these be worn with shoes?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My thought would be no they fit very nice and not sure the shoe wouldn't eat through the sole my understanding the boot is in place of shoes .I bought them as an alternative to shoes my horse had bad feet and they worked great!!
looking to get the right size boots for 2 different horses 1 horse measures 5 inch's long x 4 3/4 wide with my guess size 2 slim?
horse 2 is 5 1/2 long x 5 1/2 wide would be size 5, but I don't show listed in sizes to choose from? please help me with my order? thank you...

BEST ANSWER: did you use the cavallo measuring guide? down load it , print it and use it by the millimeters side, it will be more helpful. just wondering if they are trimmed proper, cuz most horses hoofs are not perfectly round like that. but after measuring many, many times I got size 3 instead so my big guy can wear after a trim and my smaller guy can wear with padding. even though the slim is still pretty round you might want the regular boots for horse 2, or my guess would be a 4 would be plenty big unless your talking draft horse. I do recommend the pastern wraps but they run small so get the large if they recommend medium, etc.
How do I measure for size on the hoof boots?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Use the tool that Cavallo furnishes, you can print it and measure your horse as per the instructions, within a week after trim.. Purchase two pair. One pair that seem too small and the second one size up. The too small pair will fit after trims, the second will continue to fit with less filing until the next trim (approx 8 wks). I purchased a pair 'sized' right (according to the sizing tool) for a mare, but they were too large, so I bought a smaller pair for her. fortunately the larger pair that were supposed to fit her, fit another horse. I get frustrated trying to size them and would love to have all the sizes on the shelf. Even another (mature) horse who's boots fit a year ago doesn't fit in hers now right after a trim. They change just like we do. My only complaint is the snap comes un-done, or is loose when the velcro is set right.
Is this per shoe or is this a two pack?
Michelle D on Nov 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They r sold by the pair. Make sure u measure your horses foot. They r great
