Why did you choose this?
Horse.com Store
I chose the Cavalla sport because I have 3 pair of the trek boots and love them. I wanted to try these and see how they compared to the trek boot. I basically purchased them for a back up pair because they were less expensive.

Excellent reviews from fellow horsepeople, savings in hoof care costs.

I have been using these boots for several years now on all of my horses. They work great, stay in place and truly do protect the hoof better than any boot I've ever had. They wear well and I have had no problems at all with them. They stay on my girls in all sorts of situations ~ galloping, in mud, in the creek, in snow ~ and support tender-footed horses on every terrain. Highly recommended!

My horse is right on the line between a 4 and a 5---exactly in the middle. Should I go with a 4 or 5?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2014
Best Answer: It completely depends on how fresh the trim is on your horse. You may wish to go up to a 5 just in case there is growth.

Can these be worn with shoes?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2016
Best Answer: My thought would be no they fit very nice and not sure the shoe wouldn't eat through the sole my understanding the boot is in place of shoes .I bought them as an alternative to shoes my horse had bad feet and they worked great!!

looking to get the right size boots for 2 different horses 1 horse measures 5 inch's long x 4 3/4 wide with my guess size 2 slim?
horse 2 is 5 1/2 long x 5 1/2 wide would be size 5, but I don't show listed in sizes to choose from? please help me with my order? thank you...

Best Answer: did you use the cavallo measuring guide? down load it , print it and use it by the millimeters side, it will be more helpful. just wondering if they are trimmed proper, cuz most horses hoofs are not perfectly round like that. but after measuring many, many times I got size 3 instead so my big guy can wear after a trim and my smaller guy can wear with padding. even though the slim is still pretty round you might want the regular boots for horse 2, or my guess would be a 4 would be plenty big unless your talking draft horse. I do recommend the pastern wraps but they run small so get the large if they recommend medium, etc.

How do I measure for size on the hoof boots?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2015
Best Answer: Use the tool that Cavallo furnishes, you can print it and measure your horse as per the instructions, within a week after trim.. Purchase two pair. One pair that seem too small and the second one size up. The too small pair will fit after trims, the second will continue to fit with less filing until the next trim (approx 8 wks). I purchased a pair 'sized' right (according to the sizing tool) for a mare, but they were too large, so I bought a smaller pair for her. fortunately the larger pair that were supposed to fit her, fit another horse. I get frustrated trying to size them and would love to have all the sizes on the shelf. Even another (mature) horse who's boots fit a year ago doesn't fit in hers now right after a trim. They change just like we do. My only complaint is the snap comes un-done, or is loose when the velcro is set right.
