Product Summary:

Based on our saddle fitting experience, we've introduced this bridge pad to accommodate a horse with muscle atrophy, or hollows, behind the shoulder blades, prominent withers, and sway back. It's available in two widths: 3/4" or 1". The 3/4" thickness is for a horse with moderate hollows and sway back; the 1" is for more pronounced hollows and more severe sway back. It's designed to fit under your regular saddle pad and is made with memory foam so it fills in the gaps between the horse and saddle. This provides a much more comfortable saddle fit for the horse as it will disperse the rider's weight more evenly. Encased in black, cotton spandex for easy care. *****Bridge pads are not full pads-they are small pads to fit under your normal pad. It bridges the gap between the horse's back and saddle tree to help distribute the rider's weight. Color: Black. Dimensions: 20"L x 9"D.

Worked fine!
This did what I wanted it to do. I fit in the hollows behind the withers and lifted the saddle up off the withers and it filled in as my horse is a little sway backed being 21 Yrs. old. I did put it on top of my pad as suggested in Trail Rider. It wouldn't stay in place as listed in ad.

This product has good and bad features
The bridge pad fit perfect, but it was so slippery, it would not stay put. I have the short version of this product, and it slipped right out the back of the saddle during a ride. If the material were non-slip, it would be great.I do not recommend this product because it will not stay in place in order to use it properly.

Nice product
Does what it is supposed to do, just tricky to get it to stray in place while putting the pad and saddle on top.

Expensive, but does what it says it will do.
Although I feel that this product is FAR too pricey for a piece of memory foam (I feel like I could've made it myself), I bought it anyway for my 20+ years horse who has weaker back and shoulders. I wanted to get something to make him more comfortable until I can get a saddle that fits him correctly, and this product did the job it was made to do. The saddle he has is now is too wide for him, and I saw an immediate improvement in his attitude the first time I rode with the 3/4" pad. It filled in where he has trouble keeping muscle, and kept the horn well off his withers. I've been out on it several times since and had no trouble with it slipping, tearing or becoming bunched. It's a good pad, just expensive.

My horse is older and hollow behind the withers. This filled them in great.
