Product Summary:

1/8" wool felt top. 1/2" closed cell foam bottom is antifungal and antibacterial and allows the horses back to cool itself. Designed specifically for Reiners, to be used under a Navajo blanket top or alone. Sleek, refined design allows it to protect and support your horse while being discrete under a show blanket. Cut out over withers and contoured to fit your horses back with a split design that allows the pad to move with the horse. Cut out in the cinch area for a closer fit to the saddle. Color: Black.

Would be perfect if...
The cutout in the girth area was a little wider. We took it to a saddle shop & had it cut out more & restitched & it is perfect now.

WHAT MATERIAL IS CLOSEST TO HORSES BACK?
A shopper on Nov 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's like a closed-cell foam. I love it because it's super easy to clean, you just hose it off when you're done. I was concerned it might pull the horses' hair and make them uncomfortable but it does not seem to do that. It's just not a good material to keep in the barn in winter because when it gets cold it gets stiff. You could still use it but I don't think it would conform to the horse's back as well.
