What are the differences in softness?
Daniel J on Jul 4, 2016
Best Answer: "Softness" refers to how "stiff" a rope is. Generally the softer ropes are used for heading. Sometimes a younger or weaker competitor uses the softest lay available such as an xxs (extra extra soft). An experienced header may use a soft. Healers generally go for a stiffer lay such as a medium hard (mh) or hard rope.
