Would not keep cords together
This product supplied a rubberized center that was supposed to be put between the two plug ends. However, it is too thick and the cords pulled apart. Could only get it to work without the rubber gasket.

Quick weather protections for your plug ins
I really like these. They fit most 3 prong size plugs (not the huge industrial ones). the construction is pretty heavy duty and they are easy to put together or take apart in frigid weather. They work great for items that you use only part time, but need the weather protection and don't want to do the electric tape and plastic bag on.

Exactly what is needed for waterproof connections
The only change I would make to this item is to add some kind of seal where the cords come into back end of clam shell. Because not all extension cords are not the same size depending on how small the wire is you may need to add some black electrician tape to insure water does not have a direct route into the clam shell. Otherwise it is an excellent design and an excellent product.

This product offers great protection
I had purchased a "cord connect" several years ago and found it to be an excellent way to protect electrical cord connections outside. After having some new landscaping done, I installed two recirculating water fountains and some Malibu lighting. I immediately realized I needed more "cord connects". I ordered 4 this time and I love them. I gave one to my cousin for use in her yard and she's very happy with it too.

I've used these before and they are fabulous, particularly if you need to run extension cords to outside trough heaters and fountains.

I run extension cords for my outside heated water buckets and this will protect the connections at the fence line.
Elizabeth M on Nov 28, 2016
I was impressed with the quality. Used for water tank de-icers. The cord is exposed to rain and snow. I feel much better with this devise protecting the connection.

We run several power cords outside. Plus I bought extras for our kids homes. Stocking stuffers.

Need to keep outdoor extension cord connections dry - but my dog got into the packet because the delivery guy left it inside the gate in the rain and chewed up one of them.

I have my tank heater plugged into a long electric cord, thought this would protect the connection from snow and rain. And it does.

Need to try one of these and the price is such that it's worth trying this one. Like the twist design.

I have been loking for this type of plug cover locally for a long time. Nobody seems to carry them except at Christmas for outdoor lighting.

CINDY R on Feb 10, 2015
I bought this to protect the connection between an extension cord and my tank de-icer. Currently have the connection wrapped in electrical tape, which is fine and dandy for water proofing it but highly inconvenient if I ever need to unplug them.
Ashley K on Feb 2, 2015
Not exactly water-tight but good enough for our use - N.E. Texas winters get downright cold and my water bucket freezes easily. And it's not easy to carry water to my run-in shed.

SHARON H on Dec 27, 2016
Does this fit a 3 prong extension cord? One reviewer says it doesn't fit "medium" extension cords but I can't imagine what size that is. Does it fit the outdoor-style extension cords that are thick gauge? Does anyone know the specific gauge limit of these cord locks? Thank you.
A shopper on Oct 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The standard outdoor extension cords they typically sell at a Home Improvement store are usually 14-16 gauge with a standard 3 prong plug. They should fit these. It’s when the plugs are much larger or the wire thicker, that you will have an issue.
the diameter of the hole where the cord would fit through is about 7/16”
I just want to double check 1 thing. Will this hold a 100 ft. long, 3 prong, ORANGE ext. cord usually used for power tools, etc.?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This item is for covering the male:female connection between two extension cords or an extension cord and a device. It does not store the cord. And yes, it fits larger amp outdoor cord ends.
can it be used underwater?
A shopper on Sep 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I doubt it, there is a foam lining on the edge, but it says protect from SPRAY - underwater is a different story! Water and electricity DO NOT MIX! ;-)
