Excellent blanket at a steal of a price.
Excellent quality, I love the reflective strips. Moderate insulation, strong quality material, don't even need rear leg straps and it stays in place. Seems to run long, as in the blanket seems to come further down the leg towards the knees more so than other blankets, which I don't mind.

Great quality value for money!
This blanket was purchased on sale as an urgent replacement. I ordered a 78 in black. I was surprised to find tasteful turquoise top stitch trimming the edges. The waterproof outer shell feels much more flexible, almost softer, than most more expensive brands. It covers above the withers with sturdy velcro and clip rings at the front. The quilted lining is a sturdy satin feel against the horses skin. The extended tail cover is an little deceiving, at first it appears like the blanketis slightly too large. This is not the case, it is true to the labeled size. The gussets drop lower than most blankets, however the soft absorbant quilting stops about 10" from the bottom of the gusset. Very clever if you ask me, especially when you have a horse that enjoy to roll, and relax in a muddy paddock.Even if I didn't manage to get this blanket on sale I'd still be very impressed with this purchase.

I have for many years purchased Saxton blankets and have been very happy with them. This past season my mare out grew hers which was a size 75. This past Nov. I purchased a size 80 hoping that it would fit a bit large. Come to find out its too small and pulls on her withers having no choice had to use anyway. She measures a size 75. Now that i am going with a completely different brand I am totally lost at what size i should get. She's not an extremely large horse but is wide in the withers. Can any one give me any advise.?
Thank You

BEST ANSWER: First, we always recommend to measure your horse before a blanket purchase. It very much matters HOW the horse is measured, however. I know myself that if I don't use a helper and make very sure that the tape is level, I will not get an accurate measurement!
Stand your horse as square as possible. Measure from the center of the chest along the side of the body to the point of the horse's hindquarters just before the tail. If your horse ends up measuring between sizes, choose the one closest to your measurement unless your horse is particularly big-bodied.
Measuring is usually best done with a helper and a soft or cloth measuring tape. Take the measurement twice to be sure.

Are you able to attach a neck cover to this blanket?
Madison Z on Dec 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's not set up for a neck cover, but dee rings could be sewn at the appropriate places to attach one -- something I've done myself. Just please keep in mind that altering the blanket would render it non-returnable.
