buy these boots, my shoeless horse loves the protection and traction.
Yesterday I finished a 100 plus, five day, ride and camp in the Santa Cruz Mts. My horse wore these Easycare trail boots the entire time and I attribute his success and safety to these boots. He is a 22 year old 17 hand standard bred wearing sizes 6 & 7 boots. The condition of the boots are great and minimal wear exists. Your horse will appreciate these cool boots. So easy to put on and take off. They never shifted or came off in water, mud, grass, asphalt or dirt trails.

Mostly did the job
I purchased four boots for my horse for trail riding while his feet grow out enough to get a shoe on. First, determining the right size is no easy feat. In the end, I ordered #3s for the front and #2s for the back. One of the back one's kept twisting on his foot (45 degrees). Yes, I measured all four feet separately, but one foot is narrower than the others and the sizes don't line up nicely for his feet. The fabric lining in one of the front ones was shredded after the first use. The boots did stay on through water and mud, and my horse did not seem sore with them on even on rocks (and he's pretty tender footed). You do have to take them off every so often on a long ride and dump out any dirt and debris. I was disappointed that horse.com was running a 30% sale but the manufacturer limited the discount to 15%. Sounds a lot like price fixing to me. The boots were the same price everywhere I looked even with the discount).

Quality Boot, Easy to use, Sizing is an issue
I needed a treatment boot and have been using the older OldMac boot. I called EasyCare because I wanted to be sure which boot would be best and the sizing is very important. It was recommended that I get a slightly larger size because of the diaper and vet wrap and then if I am not using those, I would use one of the inserts.I agree that Horse.com has misleading advertising. They say free shipping but only if you can wait 2 weeks and I needed to start a treatment as soon as possible. The boot stayed on for the first round of treatment, but then after a 2 week off period, when I started the next treatment the boot was off in 2 days! It was completely intact and I could not figure out how he got the boot off. So, I tried again. I tightened it to the max, and it was off in 2 days, still exactly as I had put it on.At this point I am past my 30 day return so I am not sure how I will keep the boot on for future treatments. Make sure you do your evaluation within that 30 day window.

This product appears to be as advertised
Bought this from Horse.com although I called EasyCare to discuss the best boot for my needs. EasyCare was very informative and helpful on what boot would be best for my situation. You can buy from them but it seems like they would prefer you buy from a distributor. I ordered from horse.com and it came when expected but their advertising is misleading that it is free shipping. Yes, it is if you can wait 2 weeks. The boot is so much easier to use than the OldMac I have been using. Quality seems very good. I am using it for hoof treatments so I cannot attest to riding with it. Not sure about the fit yet. It seems big but EasyCare said it would need to be bigger to accommodate the extra padding due to the wrap. I have noticed some rubbing when I changed his treatment pad but as I said it may be a bit big to accommodate the wrap.

truely is the easiest boot in the world!
If your looking for an easy on easy off boot, this is it!! I LOVE the fact I don't have to rasp my boys hooves in between trims. These are a GREAT trail boot.I had my very strong muscular neighbor try and pull one of the boots off and he couldn't. I've rode through muddy, mucky rocky terrain with no problem. The only flaw I have seen is the small gap at the top of the boot at the pastern.I thought it would leave a bunch of debris get inside the boot but I've only got a few pieces of grass out. I have gaited horses and they move out just fine in these boots.

How do I measure for the new trail easy hoof boot?
Regina M on Aug 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: After a fresh trim, measure both the width (widest point side to side) and length (buttress line to toe tip) of the bottom of each hoof. You may wish to closely trace around the hoof while standing on cardboard and measure that way.
These boots are sold individually and the hooves may not both be the same size. Easycare recommends to measure in millimeters instead of inches for greater accuracy.
I just ordered a pair of these boots, as a first time purchase, my question is, do you go by the exact measurements or go you have to add any mm for growth between trimmings?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Very good question. I ordered a pair of boots which we measured the hoof to fit. We knew the boot might need to be a bit larger because we were using it as a treatment boot and would have a pad and a wrap inside the boot as well as the foot. But we ordered according to the hoof size. It was great and stayed on for the first week and then would never stay on. Never could figure out what went wrong but test it out and return before they won't take it back!
I am in need of size 12, but it's not an option on the drop down for size option.?
suzanne s on Nov 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, only the sizes listed are available through our company.
Do the sizes listed correspond roughly to steel horse shoe sizes? My mare's foot is worn down as she lost her shoe out on the trail. She wears an "0" in regular steel shoes. I just need a boot until her hoof grows out.
Thank you. KT
M. K on Jul 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, boot sizes do not correspond to shoe sizes. Here is a link to the sizing chart:
http://www.horse.com/ContentFiles/Sizing_Charts/E015321.jpg
EasyCare always recommends to measure in millimeters for the most accurate sizing.
The easiest way is to stand each foot on non-corrugated cardboard and trace closely around the hoof.
does this fit over a shoe?
steffe on Mar 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These boots are designed to fit on a barefoot horse. If you need more protection than your shoe gives your horse then talk to your farrier about other shoe options. If your wanting to go barefoot then boots will give your horse the terrain protection needed.
How many boots come in the box?
A shopper on Mar 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The boots are sold separately so there is one per box.
how many boots do I get ?
A shopper on Apr 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My horse has good feet so I only buy two boots for her two front feet; I use them when we ride in very rocky areas. If your horse does not have good feet, I would recommend buying 4 boots...one for each foot.
can water seep through ....suction effect?
A shopper on Sep 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Water can get in but my horse has never had one sucked off. They fit well and have been totally secure...unlike other brands I have tried.
Is the size the same in the New boot as the previous Easy Boot Trail?
Brenda F on Sep 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would say not necessarily. Please call Easy Boot. They are very helpful in addressing these questions. Please remember that if you buy the boot and it does not fit you only have 30 days to return it. Better to just make sure about your size now. The boot size I bought worked great for wrapping of the hoof I needed to do at the time but did not stay on after that. Be sure you are buying a size for your needs.
Can I get them sooner than 2 wks ?
A shopper on Feb 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These boots ship directly from EasyCare. Unfortunately the lead time they show is one to two weeks.
