I have had good luck ordering from in the past and was in need of a birthday present for a little girl who rides English. In our area there is no where to purchase English tack so I thought I would try

great schooling bridle! and totally appropriate for local shows!

I've been riding for 28 yrs but mostly Western, just started getting into the English world because 1 of my students wanted to learn it. I have ridden English before but just for fun, never learned all the different terminology or anything. I know in Western most bridles can be used for any bits, sniffles, shanks, etc. Is it possible to use this bridle with any other bit besides a snaffle? I know I sound like a complete idiot who shouldn't be training but due to a serious medical condition, my body has never been able to handle riding English very much. So I have learned everything I know by sitting in on other trainers English sessions, asking for advice when I need it and just using common knowledge about differences between English and Western. I have always done posting trot in my Western saddle so I guess that has helped as well. Thanks!!!!

Best Answer: this bridle would be fine with any english bit. If it is a shank style like a pelham you will just shorten up your cheek pieces, if its a snaffle you will keep them longer. You should be fine with this with any typical english bit, snaffle, kimberwick, pelham, etc... A snaffle bit can offer you a lot of variety based on the thickness of the bit, and the different rings (dee ring, O ring, eggbutt, full cheek... but they are all snaffles.)

is it split reins?
A shopper on Sep 4, 2014
Best Answer: The reins have the option to be split, or you can hook them much like a belt. I keep them hooked. My horse has a very long neck also, so these reins are almost too short for me. If you place them around the pommel, it will pull at the bit. Overall, love these reins and the leather.

It doesn't come with a bit, right?

Is it leather?
Dana N on Mar 29, 2014
Best Answer: It is leather. And it fits a big horse not a average size. It does not come with bit..

How long is the browband?
Shannon M on Apr 14, 2017
Best Answer: Not sure how long it is, but I purchased for my school horses. It is interchangeable on my horses ranging from 15h - 16.3. I wouldn't say its warmblood size, but a big TB head fits fine. Holding up pretty well too, since the kids hardly condition and clean no matter how much I lecture!
