Product Summary:

Ecovet™ Fly Repellent
Now with new scent!

Ecovet™ introduces a less toxic approach to pest control for your horse. Tested and endorsed by veterinarians, Ecovet™ is designed with a proprietary mixture of food-grade fatty acids and silicone oil to effectively repel many types of flies, ticks, mosquitoes, and lice. It works by forming a natural barrier around horses to repel those annoying pests. The proprietary mixture confuses and overwhelms an insect's normal directional ability so the insect is unable to locate your horse.

Features:

  • Now with new herbal blend of lavender with a hint of tea scent
  • Safer for horses and the people applying it
  • Forms a natural barrier around the horse that repels pests
  • Long-lasting; reapply every 2-3 days
  • Effective in repelling stable flies, horn flies, ticks, and cattle lice, among others
  • Great solution for horses with sensitive skin
  • May help improve difficult-to-treat sweet itch
  • Can also be used on cattle
  • EPA approved

Best fly repellent I've ever used
This is by far the best fly repellent I've ever used. Yes, it kind of stinks (like cheap old time aftershave) but it works and lasts. My horse still smells like a 70 year old man a day after I applied it. I have a blue heeler dog who is terribly bothered with flies chewing his ears - if I mist his ears with this the flies go away and stay away. I really recommend it.,

sweet itch
One of my Morgan's has sweet itch, meaning he has an allergic reaction to the tiny gnats (no-see-ums?) that bite his belly when he is turned out. I used to have to put Vaseline on his belly to deter them and give him relief which was a mess. Since I started spraying this on his belly and mane, he has grown a long full mane and tail and never gets down and rubs his belly on the ground or bites his belly. It is incredible. Fly sprays are just that, for flies. I've never found one that works on the tiny biting bugs, but this product does.

The best natural fly spray
It works better than any natural spray I have ever used. Very effective against the sweet itch insects. The new smell is a great improvement from the first version. My horses would cough or sneeze at the first version; now they have no reaction. I hated using chemicals on them and breathing it myself. I have no guilt using Ecovet.

Actually repels flies!
This product not only s smells great, but actually works. I was told that the pheromones in it confuse the flies. Whatever it is it lasts a whole lot longer than the usual 5-10 minutes. Not sure I'll use any other sprays from now on. It is a bit more expensive than others, however, less if one considers that it actually works.

Do not throw money down the drain on standard fly sprays again
I got tired of spending money and polluting the horse and myself every season. I live in TN and last year we did not have a freeze, so that means flies galore. I went to the dover store and they suggested we try this. This spray is the best ever and last through a thunderstorm and pouring rain too.

Best fly spray ever
This really works! Even horse flys and deer flys can't seem to find the horses when sprayed with this and it seems to really last a long time too. The silicone base makes the coat soft and shiney. I'm amazed and buying more! While it doesn't smell bad it may make some people cough. Best fly repellent out there!

No toxic chemicals and he kept his hair on!
The only fly spray that has ever worked on my extremely allergic horse. He doesn't rub his hair off any more!

Is this safe for mares that have colts nursing?

BEST ANSWER: Please check with your veterinarian to be on the safe side.
Ecovet advises us that they can't claim safety for pregnant or nursing mares/foals because they have not specifically done the testing.
