Not sure about this stuff
It took my mustang a day or so to get used to it. I've not really noticed the flies staying away from my horses (especially my OTTB mare): the flies aren't bad in the barn but I'm not really sure if this stuff is really working or not. One bucket will last a long time though as you don't have to feed a lot of it.

I have used this product for several years and it reduces the insects on the horses to very little to none.

This product did nothing to help with flies, mosquitos or any other bugs.
I did not get this with my original order. It was a month late. I have been using it for a month every day with 4 thoroughbred horses out in separate pastures. I clean up their pasture/stall area every day to help with bug issues. There is absolutely NO change in anything.

Garlic vs Flies
We feed this garlic power everyday during fly season . It does help with the flies . It will not keep all of them away but it does help keeping the flies away . I know ours horses appreciate it and we combine it with their daily feed (we wet ours) . They gobble it down , so no problem there .

Best I found so far
My 4 year old QT horse hates flies and during the fly season besides throwing his head up and down constantly even with a fly mask he would also have 20 to 30 large welts all over him due to fly bites. Sprays last only so long when he is in the pasture, so I tried FlyAway Garlic placed in his feed twice a day. After 30 days the flies still land on him but do not bite like they use to. He only has one or two very smaller welts day to day now. I plan on using FlyAway Garlic April to October from now on.

Exactly what I was looking for...
First dosage, two horses refused to eat their feed. I believe it was the pungent smell. But after this initial feeding, all were back eating as normal. It may be my imagination but seemed to be less flies bothering them within two three days of starting this product. It has now been one week. Ive very pleased at what I am seeing.horses are more relaxed with no bothersome flies. Im still waiting to see what kind of health benefits it may have as well.I put scoop as a con since you have to measure half a scoop. Directions state scoop is equal to 1/2 ounce and give half that...then just provide a 1/4 ounce scoop so I can give 1 scoop and not have to measure or gest-a-mate what a 1/2 scoop is.

Great Stuff
We mix this garlic with the horses daily wet feed . All 8 eat it with no problem . It sure does keep the flies off . This works better than fly spray .

Works
I started my highly sensitive Paso on this and it works well. Yes flys still come by but do not stay or bite her. She eats it but is not found of the taste. Others at my stable with skin conditions use this and it works wonders

It really works well!
I purchased this product in the winter months and started my horse on it to help boost his immune system. He boards with eight other horses an he gets a cough every winter. It took him about 3-4 days before he would eat it because the garlic smell is pretty intense. He never got his yearly cold and now the summer is here I noticed that he does not have many flies on him. I have completely stoped using any fly spray and strictly use this product and have been very pleased.

Have fed Zena garlic in the past and it worked wonders! Now she's home, I can go back to providing her supplements since I do not need to worry her supplements are being given to other boarders.

Can you give this along with a muti vitamin already being given?
Shannon C on Mar 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can give the garlic along with an multi vitamin. It works so well in the spring and summer to keep away the big bugs that love to chew on your horses. Not sure if it's the taste or smell but bugs hate it. My babies can relax alittle more without witting about getting bit everyday. Hope that helps.
What is the content weight? You can't see it on the jug and not in the description.

BEST ANSWER: Fly-Away comes in a 5 lb. size
How many days of feeding the garlic before there is a noticable difference in flys on the horse. Does this product also deter mosquitoes?
Micpea on Jul 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It did not work for me after a month of daily feeding.
