Not shaped correctly
The pad is nice and thick and should wear well if it could be used. We can't use it because it is not shaped correctly. The problem with it is that it is not centered...the shape is off and the long portion is not centered coming out of the round part so it will not fit under the saddle in the right position.

Inexpensive and useful
I purchased this pad for my grandson's mare because she has high withers and his saddle was sitting too low in back. Since he is small, his saddle is small, which can make getting a good fit difficult. The pad seems pretty large, but this hasn't been a problem. The front of the key was a little thick for his saddle, but the foam inside the pad cover was easily trimmed to fit exactly. Overall a good value for the price.

Really huge!
I thought this was just the fleece cover for the foam riser pad. So I guess it's a good price since it is both the pad and the fleece cover. However, it is HUGE! The narrow part does not fit in the channel of any of my saddles. The thing is just HUGE! It does seem to be good quality though. But I'll have to send it back as it is impractical.

Great for the sway-backed horse.
I purchased this after remembering long ago how an older school horse required one for her sway back. My aged gelding has developed one and before purchasing a saddle with the CAIR system, I got this pad to get him through with his current saddle. It helped tremendously. The saddle fit better and he wasn't so uncomfortable with a bunch of pads in between him and the saddle. It just took this pad and a quilted pad to keep him happy. Sadly, after purchasing his special saddle, I no longer needed this pad. I haven't gotten rid of it yet, though!

Poor Design
If you need a riser pad, go with the foam kind, like the ones made by wintec. This kind fills up the gullet in the saddle and puts a ton of weight on the horse's withers. Ouch!

Will this be to big for my 15in saddle?

BEST ANSWER: I don't think so. You could definitely trim it down if you needed to to make it work.
