How many scoops are included in each size?
A shopper on Jul 28, 2016
Best Answer: You're going to have to do your own math on this. (Or try other sites that carry Equus psyllium and they may have number of servings). But for a 20 lb tub (which is what I buy) here's how I figure the servings. The scoop holds 2 ounces (for all size tubs). 16 oz in a pound. At 20 pounds X 16 = 320 oz divided by a 2 oz scoop = 160 scoops. The actual servings depend on how many scoops you give your horses per feeding. In other words, if you give your horse 2 scoops per feeding (4 oz), you will have 80 servings (but still 160 scoops). Your 10 lb tub will have 80 scoops.

What is the recommended dosage for Equus Psyllium Pellets? My horses weigh 900-1000 lbs.
Ellie D on Jul 24, 2014
Best Answer: I have used this product for years as a precaution since south Texas pastures are very dry and dusty. I follow directions on container which is two scoops once a day for seven days. I feedy horses dry pellets once a day so I just add the psyllium to that. They seem to like the taste and would probably eat it even by itself.

Hello,

My 23 y.o. quarter horse has been experiencing (not all the time) watery stools for about the past year. His "cheeks" are always crusted with the dried after math of this, and sometimes gets on his back legs. My vet has suggested a daily probiotic, as well as a daily dose of 2oz. psyllium. I currently give him psyllium 7 days of the month for sand collic. Is it really okay to give him psyllium on a daily basis, long term? Thank you for your help.
Debi K on Oct 24, 2015
Best Answer: Normally these pellets are given monthly for a week...but if your vet tells you it's fine to give your horse 2 oz daily then there shouldn't be an issue I don't think. I know my vet highly recommends this product which I was happy to hear since I've been using it for years.

Does this product come with a scoop?
Laura S on Mar 24, 2016
Best Answer: I have used about 4 canisters/year for several years and the pre-measure scoop had been in every canister but one.

What is the percentage of psyllium?
A shopper on Nov 26, 2016
Best Answer: I do not know but I know the product works great for my horses. They are checked twice a year for sand and always come up clean. I do feed a bit differently than directions which my vet said was fine. I feed 2 scoops twice a week.
