Needs work but could be a great halter
As the first reviewer explained the hardware specifically the clip is too small or the rope is to big. The hardware is brass and actually nice so fix the sizing of the clip and you'll have a great product. I managed to pry the clip open enough to use it and bigger clips can be purchased but we shouldn't have to do either

needs hardware made bigger!
I remember using these in the '60s. However, either the hardware is too small or the rope is too thick. Sitting in my house, I cannot take this halter loose and refit. Impossible to put back together once taken loose. Cannot imagine a horse allowing u to fight with the halter to close.Great idea that needs work! Will return.

Looking for a cotton halter as part of my "emergency" kit. In case of fire I am advised to use a cotton halter in case the horse would have to be turned loose. Less likely to melt to the face lilke a nylon halter would. Would this be satisfactory?
Roberta on Jun 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The advice sounds reasonable, but I found this particular halter to be impossible to keep on my horse - he kept just rubbing it off, and it was very difficult to adjust.
cotton halters good for colts?
A shopper on Oct 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Can you give me more size info? I bought halters here before, the large fits my 14.3h horse and the average fits my 13.3h pony. If I had a 15h horse there would be no size for him and that is average height, so the size description is all wrong. Do I have to buy one in every size and return the ones I don't need?
is white the only color?
A shopper on Sep 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Far as I know it comes in only white
