The price is good and I like the fact that the cord can be hidden away when not being used.
Janice G on Dec 14, 2017
I have one of these and so far so good. It's a large bucket that can be used during the winter and summer months. The chord is underneath the bottom of the bucket with the cap over top of it.

terrific price and good reviews.
TRACEY E on Jan 13, 2017
Bought 4 of these buckets, some for the horses and some for my outside hunting dogs. This is a extremely well made, heavy duty unit. I love that the cord comes out the bottom of the unit, and also stores under a cap on the bottom. This unit shuts off and turns itself on all by itself, no need to have to monitor the weather. My horses drink so much more water during the winter, I really am amazed this unit isn't more expensive for what a super unit it is.
MAUREEN D on Feb 27, 2016
Must make sure my mare has access to water in these frigid temps. The air is very dry in the cold and she needs total access to water on demand.
Cori E A on Jan 3, 2016
I've purchased three of these before & am very happy with the product & performance. We needed an additional one for an additional horse so I wanted the same kind. It's a very sturdy, well made bucket. I like the hideaway feature of the heating element so you can use it year round as a regular bucket without having to deal with a loose cord that might get damaged. I highly recommend this bucket.

will this bucket stay warm in the barn when below zero?
A shopper on Feb 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I live in Kansas and the winters here can be brutal. We have used these buckets for 2 winters now. The water in the barn has NEVER frozen. The buckets seem to cycle on and off so the water is either tepid or on the cold side but not frozen. This is a great product and I would definitely purchase these buckets again.
How to open heated bucket?
A shopper on Jan 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The cord is I. The bottom of the bucket, you can see little tabs that you use a flat head or your nail to open, very easy.
does bucket have ground on plug?
A shopper on Sep 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it’s does not have ground on plug
electric bucket ?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: the heating element is encased within the plastic walls of the bucket and does not directly touch the water. There is a cord in the removable bottom which you use to plug into an outlet or extension cord if necessary. Replace the bottom after removing the cord, there is a port for it.The cord is protected from chewing by metal coil. I am using these buckets for a second season and am very pleased with how they work
What happens if horse drinks all the water between times i fill it up?
Crystal C on Dec 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Probably burn out the element. They said not to let it run out and I know stock tank heaters burn out. I'd take it out at night. They have lick tubs for cattle that work well to put water in pens and runs, you just need a tank heater. I have a friend who is using this set up and she is not having any trouble. I used my bucket last winter to water a mini donkey with her baby but they never drank it dry over night
how many gallons does this hold? Thanks
Lisa M on Dec 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They hold more than the normal 5 gallon buckets. My guess would be closer to 6 gallons than 5. My horses are very content with one bucket to get them through the night. I do love these. They are not overly warm. I do have a small barn with those safety electrical outlets that pop if there is an overload. One night, not a particularly cold one, that safety feature tripped. For the most part I have NO trouble with them. The bottoms stay on securely and I drilled a hole through the stall wall into the center aisle for the cord to be pushed through and plugged into the outlet.
Can this bucket be placed in wood shavings? I have minature goats and their water bucket is typically on a wooden floor with wood shavings? I'd like to do the same with this bucket.
Brian M on Dec 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Buckets are great! I have mine hanging but, I have the large muck bucket size I keep it on the ground. They don't get hot to the touch...just barely warm on side. You might put it on a flat paver just to be safe and keep it it Won't spill as easy. They are a back saver! You'll find the same. Enjoy.
How many watts dose it take?
A shopper on Dec 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure how many watts they use, but I was told that they are one amp. So we run 8 off of one circuit.
can it be left on empty fr approx. 15 hours?
Brigitte R on Nov 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would highly recommend that there is water in the bucket when bucket is plugged in. You never know when weather will change and heater needs to activate. I would think that without water and unit activates then unit would burn out or even worse cause a fire.
what are the measurements of the 16 gallon heated bucket? need to make sure my dogs and goats can use it
Cindy M on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 13 in diameter and 12 in deep. That bucket is super tough and works super good for my the winter.
How is this powered? Cord or battery.
Breanna on Nov 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This bucket is powered by electricity. It is a sturdy bucket and keeps the water at a good temperature for my horses and donkeys. I have been using it for two years and have been very satisfied.
Do you know if these buckets could be used to feed soaked alfalfa cubes in the winter so they wouldn't freeze? I have a 35 year old horse that eats very slow and he can not eat hay anymore so wanted to try feeding soaked cubes but worry they will freeze in the Minnesota winter.
A shopper on Oct 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi. Yes they work great! I swear by them and have been using them for 15 years. Petra Wiederhorn, Toad Hollow Farm, North Salem, NY
Is there such a thing as solar heated water buckets or troughs?
A shopper on Oct 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I believe sells them, they're called sun tanks. If you're asking if there are solar powered water troughs, that I'm not sure of. I know you can get a solar panel with electrical outlets but depending on your location, they may not get enough sun to filly charge and run throughout a harsh winter. Hope this helps.
How does the heated water bucket stay warm?
A shopper on Jan 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Coils are enclosed in the buckets keeps the water cool ( @50 degrees ) not warm. I've used these buckets for several years when the temp is 0 & have never had a problem.
what is the material used for this bucket?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It seems to be made of the same type of plastic that a normal water bucket is made of. However, it is more brittle than a regular water bucket so if you have a horse that likes to crib or is just tough on things I would not expect it to last more than a season without some kind of damage.
Can you use an extension cord with this bucket?
A shopper on Oct 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I haven't tried it yet. Im hoping and sure it will work like all other equipment
and by the way, need one to use in my stalls too. Fingers crossed and prayers
all horses have water if we reach those deadly temps!
