Farnam™ Rain Maker™ Triple Action Hoof Moisturizer and Conditioner
Dry weather, dusty stables, lack of exercise: these factors combine to rob a horse’s hooves of moisture, leaving them hard and brittle, susceptible to cracks, injury, and disease, and unable to regenerate quickly because of slowed growth. Rain Maker™ can protect your horse’s hooves from these damaging conditions.
Like a rainy day, Rain Maker™ leaves hooves with a healthy balance of moisture. It’s an advanced hoof dressing that helps restore and condition damaged hooves, so they can absorb the stresses and shocks of daily life with ease. The Triple Action Formula leaves your horse with hooves that attract, absorb, and retain moisture. It helps prevent painful problems like cracks, splits, and contracted heels, enhances color, sheen, and texture, and leaves hooves with a natural glossy, lustrous appearance.
Features:
Humectants in glycerine attract moisture to the hoof
Fatty Acid Esters absorb and carry moisture deep within the hoof
Rosins and Petrolatum help retain hoof moisture
Aloe Vera Oil penetrates deep to help keep hooves healthy-looking
Lanolin provides emollient action
Pine Tar enhances color, texture and sheen
Item Specifications:
Ingredients:
Neatsfoot Oil, White Petrolatum, Glycerine, Pine Tar, Lanolin, Aloe Vera Oil, Hydrolized Animal Protein
Size:
Net: 32 fl. oz. (946ml)
Directions for Use:
Before applying Rain Maker™, be sure the sole and wall of the hoof are clean and dry. Pick out the soles and clefts of the frog to remove any foreign matter.
First, using the handy applicator brush provided, work Rain Maker™ into the frog, the sole and over the bulbs of the heel. Next, apply to the hoof wall to aid in restoration of the periople (protective coating of the horn), retard moisture loss and give the hoof a natural sheen. Using the applicator brush, also massage Rain Maker™ into the coronary band to approximately one inch above the hoof wall. Repeat treatment as needed. Most hooves respond favorably to an application once or twice a week.

The only hoof dressing that makes a difference in my dry climate
I have used many brands of hoof dressing for decades, but only Rain Maker seems to actually make a difference in my dry desert climates. The outer surface of the hooves does get less flaky and dry with continued use. I use Biotin for the internal structure, but Rain Maker for the outside.
Rain Maker- Great Product!
I have been using this product for over 25 years. Tried it once, and never used anything else for conditioning my horse's feet. Great product, and reasonably priced.
Great Stuff!!!
I have tried every kind of hoof moisturizer and this one is the ONLY one that works on my horses hooves. It's the only one that keeps her feet moist, healthy and prevents them from cracking in the summer time!!!
Great for dry hooves !
I use Farnam's, Rain Maker in the dry hot weather & also during the wet weather. It protects my horses hooves from cracking & moisturizes them as well. Me & my horses LOVE it :)
This product works well
My vet actually recommended this product for my Friesian x mare because her hooves were cracking so badly due to dry, sandy conditions. I use it every day now and her hooves look way better between trims.
Amazing for problem hooves!
I've had this in my tack box since Christmas and I noticed some cracks in my 22 year old QH's hooves so I put some of this on and even though it was a bit hard to get out at first, I checked her hooves the next day and my reaction was BEYOND IMPRESSED!! Cracks noticeably disappeared and they are looking a lot more healthy!
Good Stuff
We have used Rain Maker for over twenty years. It is the only Hoof conditioner we use. Lasts long also.
This product stays well on the hoofs even in dusty areas. I use this product 1 or 2 times a week. Works well for my horses and keeps the hoofs in good condition.
Love this product
My farrier recommended this product several years ago and I am so glad I tried it. It keeps the outer hoof firm and moisturizes the sole and keeps the entire hoof pliable. I am so glad it has a applicator, it makes my life easier.
This works
The solution to cracked hooves due to the dry hot summer months. Saw a difference within 2 weeks.
I have used rain maker for years . It keeps the horses hooves nice.
Love this stuff
This year has been so dry and it's really taking a toll on their hooves. My mare normally has great hooves, but they have been cracking and chipping like crazy. The bottom of her hooves are dry and cracked. I have only had this project for a couple weeks, but I love it! You can still see the sheen after several days. My mare is a paint with white and brown striped hooves and I don't notice any residue.
Exceeded Expectations
I bought this product after reading tons of reviews of this product. Not only on horse.com but on other sites as well. Even though it had so many good things said about it, I still had to see it for my own eyes. After using Rain Maker, I saw immediate results. I apply this about every five days and it works wonders. My horses normally have hard hooves, but this year has been horrible for them. Their hooves were getting wide cracks halfway up the hoof wall, while the bottoms had large cracks that looked similar to a mud hole drying up in the summer, with the peeling top layer. The first time I used Rain Maker I saw fantastic results. The moisture was already starting to be restored, and their hoofs have never looked better since i started using it. I absolutely love this product. I recommend it to everyone and will keep using it for the years to come. The only downside is that it smells like BBQ sauce or meat seasoning which makes me hungry. haha.
OK Product
If your horse has light colored hooves, you can see the residue this leaves on them and it doesn't come off easily.
Good Product
I think this is a really good product. I like that it conditions the hoof really well. To get good results I use it more than the 1-2 times weekly the advertising recommends. It does smell like BBQ sauce, I dont mind the smell and I dont think my horses do either becuase they always try to sniff at it. I would keep using this product and I would recommend it to others as well because I havent noticed anything I dont like. It has become part of my grooming routine.
Awesome!
I've been using this product for quite awhile now, and it works wonders on my two thoroughbreds! Even after putting it on and shortly there after putting them back in their stalls, the shavings stick to the hooves, but once it dries the shavings brush off in the pasture. Would highly recommend it to anyone!
Pretty great!
This stuff is great! It's thick, and stays on really well. My gelding is an OTTB and has had bad feet since I first got him- they would crack and peel at the bottoms, and even after he got shoes, they still cracked and peeled. He has also had a chronic thrush problem. I then got this stuff, and his feet look so much better! His feet stay cleaner too! Great stuff!
Love it.. except
I love this product! It works really good during the summer on my horse's hooves!!But the second time I used it the brush was falling apart ):
Wonderful!!!
I love this! I use it in the summers when it is dry, and have used it on horses that ranged from just dry enough to use something on them to so dry they were cracked nearly to the quick. This really works. However,I think it kind of smells like barbecue sauce.
Great product, horrible container
I really like this conditioner as it's thick, stays on and seems to help my horses' hooves. The plastic container has a tiny little opening at the top and I can neither see the product inside, nor get it out very easily. Takes twice as long as every other conditioner because it won't come out with the brush. It's really too bad, because it's really great otherwise.
great product
my 33 year old finnish horse gets big really cracks and cuts into the quick very easy.RAIN MAKER makes all roughness and cracks go away.will be purchasing again.
great product
this stuff is a miracle.my horses feet were cracking and were really ruff.i put it on for 1 day and it is great the craks and roughness was wearing away.
pretty good
the price is way too high.but i have a 33 year old finnish horse that has really big cracks in her feet that goes up and into the hoof wall and usually they are cut into the quick.it has helped it out a lot.and she does not act like it burns.a pretty darn good product
awesome
this stuff is amazing....it worked wonders....my horse that i use had a crack and it went away after a while cuz i used
Great!!!
i love this stuff!!! i use everytime after i ride...it work great the only thing u should know is that it does not come in a metal container or at least mine came in a plastic container
Amazing
This product works great. My horse goes barefoot and his feet crack because of all the rain and road. He usually gets a chip here and there, but ever since i started using this stuff he hasn't had ONE chip and its extremely hard for his hooves to crack. The only thing I don't like is the smell. But I'd recomend this product for anyone!

BEST ANSWER: I personally never used this product on the inside of my horses hoofs…however what I found when using this product I noticed best results when applying to my horse hoofs after soaking/or at least getting wet. I lived in Colorado when using this product, it really seemed to help. I know that didn't answer your question but I hope it helps.

how often do you use this for your horses hooves?
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the weather conditions. If it is dry- I use it daily to provide moisture but prevent too much from degrading hoof quality - I put it on right before I rinse her off. If is wet out Ibput it on a few times a week to try and seal the hoof from softening too much- I apply when the foot is as dry as I can get it. In good conditions 3 times a week is plenty, it depends on the quality of your horses feet. My Warmblood only needs Rainmaker, my TB requires Keratex hoof hardener as well to make it though the summer.

BEST ANSWER: Don't really know why they enclosed the liniment in my order, but rainmaker is a smelly but great hoof coat, that I frequently order. My barn buddies were happy to take the liniment because I don't use it. Maybe I should try it!! .
