Critical for those living in the desert or on sandy soil
Great product - costs a lot but cheaper than a vet bill for sand colic!

Easy to use
Easy to use - just one scoop per horse x 1 week of the month. Its palatable so no issues with horses refusing to eat it. I do have 1 picky horse but i mix a little moistened beet pulp with it.

Have Used it for Years
Farnam Sand Clear has been in our barn for 20+ years. It was suggested by our Vet to be used it the 1st week of each month to assist in avoiding cases of colic. I'd say it's working because our senior horse, which we've owned him 23 of his 26 years, has only had 1 bout of colic.

Great Product
We have used this for years, it works very good for our horses. We live in the desert so no pasture grass to munch on, Sand Clear keeps their digestive system clean.

Have a pony with chronic diarhea. Nothing else worked. He eat, drinks, never colic, happy and healthy in every way except his rear is unsightly. Someone said buy brand name Sand Clear which is pure psyllum and try it. It works. He is a beautiful whte pony with natural brown spots and a clean backside.

Even though we have pasture, the soil is a fine sand. This product helps any sand the horses might pick up while grazing to pass through their systems.

Deanna K on Mar 6, 2015

How often do you recommend feeding this product?
jaylynn b on Mar 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I didn't realize my horses had a problem until I had a fecal check done. My vet recommended to feed it 1 week per month for horses with sand problems. I actually only used it once every three months, and had a fecal check done after 6 months. They both only had minimal amounts of sand after 2 treatments in the six month time frame. I am sure alot depends on your grazing area.
I'm confused as to the description of this product it...for example it states that the 3lb tub is a 30 day supply...how can this be possible? If a scoop a day is 5oz that wouldn't cover 30 days??
Karen B on Mar 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Karen, Because I live in a very sandy area (southwest NM) I feed Sand Clear every day to my Paso Fino mare who seems to ingest more sand and gravel than my other gelding who I only feed Sand Clear to every month for one week. I feed this product because it works! I'm not as concerned about how many days it lasts and I buy the 20lb tub because I don't have much space to store a larger amount. The amount I feed my mare every day depends on the consistancy of her manure. I feed more if her droppings seem too loose and less if they are normal. I mix the Sand Clear in with her regular concentrate twice a day. I hope this helps you. Remember if you are only feeding Sand Clear (5oz.) for 7 days once a month (35 oz.) it is a 30 day supply.
Can this be fed with soaked cubes? I ffed wet cubes and some products say not to be fed wet
A shopper on Jun 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have been using Sand Clear for a long time and swear by it. It is a great product and works very well on my horses. I usually feed it dry with either some Purina Senior or Purina Omolene and my horses eat it completely. Once it gets into your horses' system, it will gel up and collect the sand/dirt in their stomach and make it easier to get out of their system. I wouldn't recommend feeding it wet -it needs to be in their stomach to get wet.
My mare will not eat the Sand Clear. I added applesauce and molasses, still turns up nose. Suggestions?
Bonnie T on Apr 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I add it to my horse's feed. My sister uses some molasses based food (just a small amount when feeding any psyllium product, including sand clear. Once a day for seven days at the beginning of the month is best. My horse doesn't like applesauce either. Feed it in the AM, when she is really hungry before you give her any hay.
How do you feed it to foals?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not a vet, but I would assume if you are inquiring about this product for a foal, you have bigger concerns that this product will not help you with. No disrespect, but perhaps you should consult a vet and have your foals holding pen/pasture checked by the vet. Good luck!
Sand Clear Why does your 50lb show a 450 day supply? Your competitors is showing only 160 days.
