Can this mask be used with a bridle for riding?
A shopper on Aug 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes though might get too hot depending on outside temperature and how much your horse is exerting himself.
Does this mask have UV protection?
Bella W on Aug 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't know thats a manufacturer question. But I like it the fringe is much better than the shield-unless you need sun protection-for keeping flies away.
Does this fly mask have the orange on it?
Debbi P on Jun 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The 1 that I received DID have the orange on it.
Do you have warm blood size and does the fringe come off ??
A shopper on Jun 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This fly mask seems to run quite large. I bought it for my 30 year old Appendix Quarterhorse mare last summer and even though she has a "feminine" head, the size of her head is more Thoroghbred-type (long) as opposed to "baby doll" (short) Quarterhorse type. I like the black mesh where I can see her eyes through the mask as this ensures that I can see her blink normally and it has ample space in there.
The fringe is sturdy cord-like and is sewn on securely. This mask is now on it's second season and construction seems to be holding up quite well.
There are 2 Velcro straps that help hold it on securely under the jaw, but they are quite long so that might help for a larger headed horse. I have considered trimming the straps shorter with scissors, but I have found that if I snug up the mask, start to Velcro the base of it, leave a ridge or bump area where it's not attached in the middle, and them secure the end tab of the Velcro so it's flush, it has stayed on fine & the other horses seem to leave it alone (could also be that she is the alpha-mare & they don't dare mess with her?!). The fringe is fairly long so it does a good job keeping flies off their nostril area, but it might be too long for a short-headed horse.
What is the difference in a full fly mask and a cob fly mask?
Travis H on Apr 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Cob is smaller size that will fit most ponies or horses with small heads (cob, Welsh, POA, Quarterponies, Arabians, etc); whereas, full is for horse size for most light breeds (Quarterhorse, Thoroughbred, Paint, Appaloosa, etc).
what size for Arabians ?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Many Arabian owners use the Cob size (for horses approximately 500-800 lbs.).
The full size is for horses approximately 800-1100 lbs.
