Heated rubber buckets
These don't crack like the hard plastic ones do in cold weather. I like the flexible material for that reason. They last for years whereas the hard plastic ones, I may get two seasons, occasionally three winters out of them. I would recommend hese to everyone.

Model FB-15R don't buy it
Rubber heated bucket, i bought two and they both have a very bad smell, the only way you know if it works is either the water gets frozen or it stays very cold.I dont recommend it if you love your animals. I don't feel its safe because you just don't know if its going to shock your animal there isn't an on and off switch or anyway to pretest it. There is a direction paper and it says to put it in the freezer for 30 minutes who has a freezer that big ? Anyway I bought 2 and Im returning two. Get something else thats better and safer.

Recycled Rubber
This would have been the perfect bucket if my animals would/could drink from it! IT SMELLED SO BAD, NEITHER my horse, nor dog would get near it. Smells like the inside of a rubber tire - YUK!Since I set them up & sort of used them, I didn't return them so if ANYONE has a resolution to the smell, I'd certainly appreciate the help!

Great product
Love these buckets. We spent countless winters breaking ice out of buckets until finally going for the heated buckets. This is a great time saver and helps keep the horses hydrated in the cold weather. It does smell strongly of rubber when brand new, but sitting out for a few days and a couple of scrubbings took care of that. No exposed heater element for horses to mess with or for hay matter to get caught up under. Love this!

Can't use it!
I bought this bucket in October to be ready for the cold, it smelled very strong of rubber the minute I opened the box, but I put it aside as I didn't need it yet - it wasn't that cold. Once it got cold, I washed it several times and can't get rid of the smell. The water tastes like rubber, and my horse certainly won't drink it.

Hoping the rubber is more pliable than the plastic. Our horse keeps rubbing up against the plastic heated bucket we have in his stall and has cracked it.

I have had others in the past. They now need to be replaced. It will save me a lot of time during the winter - no ice in the buskets!!

What's the length of the cord?
A shopper on Nov 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 5 feet
Can you purchase replacement parts for the bucket? One of the buckets I purchased about three years ago and didn't use until last week, does not work.
A shopper on Jan 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I had a problem with one bucket that I bought months ago but only used recently when the tempreatures dropped. I called the manufacturer and had a replacement bucket mailed immediately.
Is there a water fill line and how does the bucket install?
PATRICIA S on Sep 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: There is not an actual water fill line, but there is a ridge line on the interior that you can see in the photo. That is what I use as a fill line. It is simple to install, just hang it up by the handle. My only complaint about this bucket is the way the cord comes out of the back at the base. This cord keeps it from hanging flat against the wall, but I have since drilled a hole in the wall for the cord to exit the stall and it helps to keep it in place. I am happy with the 3 I have purchased.
I do NOT need a heated bucket but I do need one with a water line attached. I live in CA where the water doesn't freeze, except for a few hours in the early am. Any suggestions?
PATRICIA S on Sep 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: you can drill in top side wall [voids any return] and run a water supply line / pvc etc. I drill holes in my bucket just above the heater area near bottom side to install chicken watering nipples for heated water supply to chicks in winter. I cover bucket with a slanted board so no one, nor dirt or feather can fall in bucket
