Product Summary:

100% Natural Himalayan Rock Salt

Himalayan Rock Salt is 100% all natural, and comes straight from the Himalayan Mountains. It's a great source of iron, potassium and magnesium, all of which are for maintaining your horse’s health. It is rock hard and difficult for horses to break chunks off, so it's safe to be left out for horses. Because it's much more weather-resistant than other salt licks, it will last longer. Includes rope for hanging.

Features:
  • 100% all natural
  • Great source of iron, potassium and magnesium
  • More weather-resistant than other salt licks
  • Comes with a rope for hanging

Please Note: Product is undergoing a rolling packaging change so it may appear different than picture shown.

It's known to be more beneficial than reg. salt so feeding on a string will let them lick it when needed and can be placed where there isn't a block holder.

how long is the rope and is it in a loop?
charlie s on Dec 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is a straight piece of rope about 24". You have to thread it through the salt block and tie it at the end to make your loop. My horse loves it.
Does anyone have trouble with horses chewing & breaking off string and getting trampled into dirt to be consumed with impacting intestines or other issues? Seriously thinking of getting 3 - 12 pounders . We take our horses to camp where they need salt licks in there stalls. Ground base in stalls is sand and I have trouble with my gelding busting up the salt bricks and then consuming his clean up with sand consumption. I know this can cause digestive blockage! If I use these hanging it may be a better procedures. They need the salt(mineral bricks) .
Rae N on Dec 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My experience is that this is on a heavy rope-like string that does not break easily at all. I have not had the salt lick get busted up either. Besides all that, however, it's a good thing to give psyllium occasionally to keep the intestines cleaned out from sand, dirt, debris, etc that are present in all environments even if you don't have a sand floor.
Can humans eat this specific product?
Willie on Nov 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes.

Our local grocery store sells it in granular and grindable size chunks.
We break up a horse block because the cost per OZ is better.
My labor doesn't cost me anything.
Do the 12 pound ones come on a rope?
D&R Acres on Dec 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not that I've seen. Usually the 4 and 8 are on ropes, the others just can be put in buckets.
