This product has great features
I bought this as a gift for a friend of mine to at least have a starter first aid kit for her horses.

Great starter kit
Not exactly everything you need but a great kit to have on hand. Bag is sturdy. Only con is it doesn't look like a first aid kit. A sharpie marker on hand to mark the bag helps.

First Aid
I will never be without basic first aid again. This kit has all the basics and a few things I didn't think of and you can always add to it. I don't keep it in the bag it comes in. Some is on a fanny pack that I wear and some is on a pack on the horse. It's a great way to get started with a first aid kit.

Great for single horse owners!
This is a great kit of you only have one or two horses. For most of the products here you have to buy them in massive quantities, which takes up space and money, and you'll never use all of it. Easy storage in the bag as well, plus there's a little space for anything else you may want to put in there.

Just in Case
I purchased this for my first gelding. Haven't had to use it so far (knock on wood) but knowing I have one in my tack closet brings me peace of mind just in case something ever were to happen.

good kit
Bought this because I didn't have any first aid and needed a starter kit. A lot of items in a neat little bag. Attached it to back of my saddle for a trail ride.

Great starting point!
This first aid kit provides a great starting point for a new horse owner, although I wouldn't consider it to be all-inclusive. Personally, I added a stethoscope, nitrofurazone, Epsom salts, duct tape, and a povidone-iodine solution, as well as a few more items. My one complaint about this kit is that the included thermometer was of very poor quality and broke after one use. However, I still encourage every new horse owner to purchase this kit and then consult with their vet about what should be added to it.

A winning product to have in any tack room and/or horse trailer.
I had received one of these Horse 1st Aid kits a few years back as a gift. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it but for a minor scrape. So when I had the opportunity to purchase 1st Place Prizes for a once a year community O-Mok-See for our horse club, The Kooskia Saddliers, it was the perfect selection. Participant winners were: 7 and under, 8-11 yrs, 12-15 yrs, 16-18 yrs, and 19 plus. The parents were ecstatic to have this kind of a product in their tack room or horse trailer.

Would you recommend this verses creating your own kit?
Igotanewhorse! on Jul 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'd rather create my own kit. The book is basic knowledge that most horse owners already have. The scissors are cheaply made and would not cut paper let alone bandages. The saline solution and peroxide were the biggest benefit but you could get larger bottles from your local drug store for next to nothing compared to this kit. Pretty much everything could be purchased for less than $20 at your local drug store.
I do trail riding and i want to bring my dog (i was buying this for my horse) and if I needed to could I use this on him (my dog) if needed?
Groundhog A on Jan 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I attach this kit to the back of my saddle. Good size for trail riding. Don't see why you couldn't use it on dog, it contains all the basic items for cleaning and wrapping wounds. In fact my first use of the kit was for my pygmy goat!
does it have everything in it?
A shopper on Sep 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It has everything listed but be careful when you take everything out to check. It may be hard to remember where everything goes to have it back to the way it was.
