Product Summary:

Horse Health Joint Combo Classic

Horse Health Joint Combo contains glucosamine HCI and chondroitin sulfate, along with the cofactors manganese and ascorbic acid, in a palatable, cinnamon apple-flavored pellet. Glucosamine and chondroitin are found naturally in the bodies of animals and are necessary for normal joint function. Glucosamine is a natural precursor of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and hyaluronic acid. Chondroitin is the primary GAG found in cartilage. Manganese is an important cofactor for the formation of GAGs, and ascorbic acid is required for collagen formation. Together, they act synergistically to support healthy joint function.

Purchased a small container earlier this month for a senior mare and another picky mare who is suffering from stiffness in her pasterns due to two separate cases of "Lyme's Disease' a few years ago. She will eat around any meds mixed with her feed. :-( This, in pellet form is appetizing to both of them. If it isn't eaten, then even the most economical supplement isn't a bargain. She does eat this!

Best Answer: My vet diagnosed navicular disease and osteoarthritis in my 18 year old mare. She suggested this supplement for her arthritis after a course of Adequan. I am not sure it is useful for ligament issues.
